Great Italian

My wife and I took a long weekend trip to Boise. We googled places to go for dinner and found Café Vicino. My wife is Italian so I have to be careful how I say this. It is some of the best Italian food I have had. Unpretentious, casual atmosphere with great service. Reasonable prices. I had... read more

We went to Cafe for New Year's Eve. The meal was simply great! Our table server was attentive with out being intrusive. She was also very personable and made some good suggestions that enhanced our dining experience. We will be back!

My husband and I were beyond pleased with this place! So pleased we went back a second time on our 5 day trip to Boise. All the food we had was fresh and delicious. A few favorites: the spinach farro salad, fettuccine with scallops, and local pork shank. Everything was well seasoned and plated. We had never eaten so well... More

Cafe Vicino is a place we've learned to rely on for an interesting meal combined with always excellent service. Prices are actually moderated for the quality of the dishes offered. Usually an interesting special, but the regular menu also offers some great dishes. A place we like to bring friends and visitors

Cafe Vicino never fails to provide with a high quality meal in an intimate environment. The service is excellent and is unobtrusive. This is my husband and my go to date night spot.

We went in looking for Italian, but the special was rockfish, so it won out for both of us. The fish was perfectly seasoned and cooked, and came to us straight out of the pan along with heavenly spinach and gruyere stuff squash. It just doesn't get any better - that is unless you have the prosciutto wrapped, gorgonzola stuffed... More

This place is right around the corner from me and I rarely take advantage of it. Went in Saturday night to celebrate a couple of birthdays. The menu had changed, as it frequently does, but once I got over the disappointment of not finding the entree I had eaten there a year ago, I found too many other temptations on... More

Super good food and service. Great adaptation of traditional Italian cuisine. Seats maybe 40 people, so it can be intimate. Superb wines to go with your meal. Very friendly and helpful Waite Staff. The restaurant is now known as Richard's Cafe Vicino. Still the same great food. Richard Langston is the Chef

From the outside you would miss the restaurant unless you've been there or know how to find it. In side it is simple, but fresh. The menu is simply simple. But what is delivered to your table, no matter what you choose including the chef's specials is consistently not simple; a taste treat! they are only open for lunch and... More

I reviewed the restaurant years ago and gave it a high rating, I thought it time to revisit. It is still my favorite Boise restaurant, but the food isn't quite up to what it used to be. Maybe the chef is going through a time when his creativity is low, who knows. Having said that, I must say service is... More
