Cafe Vicino consistently turns out good food. Chef Richard brings his considerable ability and reputation to the menu and the delivery of excellent taste and service for lunch and dinner. Year round, Boiseans count on this, so you'd better make a reservation. There is limited seating and it's cozy, not really elegant. Ample parking at the Co-op parking lot doesn't... More

We have had dinner at this restaurant twice and each time it was very good. Both times we had salmon and the halibut, which was cooked perfectly. The flatbread appetizer is delicious as well.

My wife and I recently had dinner with a friend at Cafe Vicino. We were not disappointed by Chef Richard Langston's award winning restaurant. My wife and friend both had the chicken breast wrapped in prosciutto with polenta. The chicken was moist and extremely flavorable. She gave me a bite, it was one of the best I've ever tasted! I... My wife and I have enjoyed dining at Cafe Vicino a number of times and never been disappointed. The last two dinners were in May and we were pleased on both occasions. Last time I had the halibut, which was prepared to perfection. My wife had ravioli, which she pronounced to be delicious. We had just returned from two weeks... More

Great food. Try the Tomato soup, Gnocchi, or the new halibut entree. You will not be disappointed. The prices are fair and the wine list is pretty decent. We left very full and satisfied. Don't be fooled by the strip center outside the interior is lovely, warm, charming and welcoming. We went on a Saturday evening (late for locals) around... More

I have a very mixed review. If I had ordered the same as my husband, I would have given the meal a "5". My husband had the short ribs and they were delicious, but instead, I ordered the risotto, which was more like rice soup with bits of chicken. I have never had risotto so "soupy" before and I was... I have had better, Italian is a simple food, shouldn't be pushed as fine dining. 4 thin slices of bread with olive oil for a start, ok, not original. The Italian BLT I ordered was good except for the sticker on the tomato I discovered luckily before biting into. The fresh mozz was a good idea. Desserts overpriced.

first time in Boise, went for a meeting. Read about restaurant being a James Beard finalist. Went twice, once for dinner, lunch the next day. Nice meals both times. Food well prepared. Excellent food and service on par with other big cities. Food was very fresh and nice presented. I can see why James Beard took notice.

This used to be a "go to" restaurant for special occasions and romantic lunches or spent with one our best friends. Whether the indoor seating or small outside alfresco, we always enjoyed the unique offerings and congenial waitstaff. Our break came on a Holiday evening when the meal was not up to their usual standards and we've not frequented as... More

We'd heard good things about Café Vicino and the idea of a neighborhood Italian restaurant is always appealing. Sadly, there was little particularly good or Italian about it. Having pasta on the menu doesn't make a restaurant Italian, nor does a nice selection of Italian wines (and the wine list is an interesting and good one, perhaps because the restaurant... More
