Best Italian in Boise

It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's a nice restaurant inside. I ordered 2 things and they were both wonderful. First, the Gorgonzola spread for $3. If you like Gorgonzola, this is for you - top notch. It's great on the bread. For my dinner, I had clams linguine with chorizo... read more

Spending 1 night in Boise before heading out to Stanley for a river trip on the Salmon River. Based on previous reviews decided to give Cafe Vincino a try. Excellent decision! The atmosphere on the outdoor patio was charming, weather in the 80's, perfect for al fresco dining, not too hot, not too cold. Each bite of food was scrumptious,... More

Nice small restaurant that felt calming and relaxing since you could have a conversation and be heard. Excellent service. The pasta dishes ordered in our group were decent size and good. The salmon was a generous portion however slightly undercooked, which I guess most would prefer to overcooked. and dry. The Arugula Salad had a warm goat cheese-stuffed piquillo pepper... More

My husband and I had dinner at Cafe Vicino this evening -- a fantastic dining experience. The food was thoughtfully presented, with generous portions, great flavors -- absolutely delicious! We especially liked the green gaspacho with trout and the wild salmon. The staff was friendly and helpful. Don't miss Cafe Vicino if you're in Boise. Moderately priced -- a great... More

very very good, excellent staff; perfect atmosphere for an adult couple; tasteful subdued atmosphere, staff helpfull without being obtrusive, pointed us in the right direction; the cold soup of the day was stupendous as were the gorgonzola stuffed figs wrapped in prosciutto and the Brûléed Key Lime Tart...............everything was at the same level of excellence and they had a wonderful... Not a big place but very good. Attentive staff and limited menu. Had the salmon with cornbread cake and green beans, all very good. The brown butter cookie with fruit and cream was perfectly baked. Not a good place for fussy kids.

First time at this small fine restaurant, very very pleased with the preparation, presentation and meal. An amazing chicken and polenta dinner. I would so hope they keep this as a signature dish. Nice wine list. Great wait staff. Unpretentious place in a strip mall, but wait until you taste this food. You'll be back. This has got to be... More

Cafe Vicino has always been my go to restaurant when entertaining out of town guests. There are two servers who have been there for a long time and it am always so happy when we are in their section. Loved their prix fixe menu but I must not be there on the days they have it.

One of my favorite downtown Boise spots to eat. The grilled shrimp with risotto cakes over basil cream is my go-to meal here. Chef Richard knows his stuff!
