Locals' and Locavores' Favorite

This is the secret gem, tucked in to an assuming corner of Boise. Locals know, this is where you go to celebrate a special occasion or where you stop in for the best food in Boise. Menus change with the seasons, but a few of the favorites prepared by Chef Richard remain constant.

Intimate setting, exceptional service and wonderful meal. Close to downtown in the North End area with easy parking. I thought it evident that they know wine, food and service. Really a nice time and I can't say enough about the service we received - top notch!

Always a surprise to step inside, away from the noise, and find a calming atmosphere. Service is EXCELLENT and wine suggestions are always right on. Lunch is superb and we will return!

Ambiance: Very nice. Appointments are subtle but well done. Comfortable seating. It's light without being glaring, dim without being dark. Nice variety of tables. Can be a hair loud some evenings, and on the long wall seating you may be close to other diners. Staff: Excellent. Most have been there a long time, know the menu and wine, and are... More

Cafe Vicino is our "go to place" for great Italian food and a wonderful ambiance. Don't judge it by its exterior in a small shopping center. When you get inside you are magically transported to an intimate dining venue. The food is great, there is a nice selection of wine and the service is top drawer - long time waitstaff... More

When in Boise to shop or to have the cars serviced, a lunch at Café Vicino is must for us! The location is at the edge of a neighborhood...close to the Boise Coop. Great food and wonderful service is the norm here! On our last visit here, I was finally able wean myself off the Café Vicino BLT and try... More

We had a party of six on a slow night. The restaurant is nicely decorated ( don't worry about the strip mall entrance) . There is a nice variety of menu items and the service was good. The dishes are attractively presented. But no one was "wowed" by the experience, which is what we always hope for, especially at higher... More

My wife and I really enjoy this place. Located just outside of downtown Boise it doesn't get the publicity some of the other restaurants do. For my money it's one of the top three or four find dining restaurants in the area.

Ashley our server was fantastic! Her wine recommendation was perfect. The fig appetizer and potato, mushroom and crab soup were fantastic! I also chose the duck pasta but it was just okay... I wish it had a cream sauce instead of broth.

Four of us had dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday. I live in San Francisco and was pleasantly surprised to have such a fabulous meal in Boise. The food was unique blends of flavors, we had wonderful service, nice atmosphere inside. Portion sizes were spot on, and presentation of each plate was divine. The four of us order a lot... More
