DoctorCompRhet offers another reader-oriented review. This central-Boise eatery prides itself on its drinks, and it becomes quickly clear why: it's a "distillery-restaurant" (the word "bardenay" was used by sailors in place of "cocktail"). The onsite distillery produces a number of liquors that are featured in the extensive drink menu. The restaurant itself is wonderfully appointed, with a pleasant beamed interior... More

Had drinks and dinner for two for a grand total,of $39 tonight, all due to the happy hour menu and specials. The drinks from the Bardenay distiller liquor is excellent and inexpensive. Huge menu, outdoor seating, great staff, quality product and operation overall. Not to be missed. Directly across from the Frank house and Basque museum

Had a fantastic brunch. Salmon Benedict was delicious and also enjoyed one of the best Bloody Mary's I've had anywhere other than home. Service was great, thank you for a great morning!

On a recent Sunday after a three-hour bike ride, my son and I stopped in to try Bardenay for the first time. Very hip interior with extensive menu. The cheese board caught my eye this visit which includes several types of cheese, walnuts, fruit and bread. Our waiter was very attentive without hovering. Fun atmosphere!

We ate here twice during our stay. Once for breakfast. The Basque scramble is excellent! Their Bloody Marys are famous, for good reason. They have fresh orange and grapefruit juice, that they use in their mixed drinks as well. Lunch was equally delicious! They offer a large variety of food, from burgers to tacos and salads and soup.

Great atmosphere, great service, steaks were great. One of the best whiskey sours ever, fresh citrus. Great fresh lime Margaritas. If visiting a must stop for a great overall evening!

I was visiting Boise on business and a friend suggested I try Bardenay. The atmosphere was great and the menu had lots of different things that all sounded good! I had a prime rib dinner special that was HUGE and tasty. the service was very good and the quality of the food was excellent for a casual meal with friends.

Food is always good and consistent. Service staff are some of the best locally. Love the patio atmosphere-perfect summer gathering place for friends.

My recent visit to Bardenay was spectacular in that I was introducing my friend who moved to Boise just days before. As a world traveler and freshly retired from THE LAW, I wanted to show her a warm, yet hip eatery. Bardenay is one of my 'go-to' spots. You can't go wrong here -- unless you're after a quiet romantic... More

So disclaimer: We only came here for drinks but... Had such a great experience that I want to go back for dinner! We got 3 drinks between us: A vinegar based drink that was sour but delicious, a chocolatey drink that was beyond amazing, and a non-alcoholic mulberry and cream drink that I HAVE to have again...!! I'm a lightweight... More
