Family style, made from scratch Indian and Pakistani cuisine. The Best in Boise and the Northwest. Everything is prepared by one chef. That chef happens to be my Mother You can expect an extensive beer selection with micro-brews, IPA"s, Porters, and international favorite. Over 40 to choose from at any given day. You can expect food made from scratch to your liking, and entree's you won't find at your typical curry in a can Indian Diner. Expect spices to be cooked right when you order them, an extensive Vegan and Vegetarian selection. Expect a good time at an amazing location in the heart of Downtown Boise with an owner operated business. We have a lunch buffet everyday that allows for a quick lunch. If you're coming in for dinner, we hope you're not in a rush, our beers and wines are here for you to relax because the cost of home-style food is a bit longer wait time. The freshness and flavors of our dinner are meant to be savored and explored. We look forward to your visit!

Wow!

My daughter and I enjoyed a couple hours quality time and way too much delicious food at the Taj Mahal last Friday. If you haven't stopped by, you should! Located on 8th street in downtown Boise it is a must for you if you love spicy! We ordered three different dishes, naan, samosas & chai tea... read more

The staff was very confused had no idea what was going on so slow. Had no silverware, food arrived at all different times to the table. Had ask for an order that they forgot about. The lamb and chicken dishes had little meat in them. We ordered the family style dishes and were very disappointed very over priced for what... More

Last weekend went for Dinner Had Kadhai Goat , Lamb Biryani and Chana Daal. Lamb Biryani had less salt and Kadhai Goat had more salt. Chana Daal : I can cook better than it. Point being for the cost I would expect better food. Staff is very hospitable and good ambiance. I will try others before I go back.

Located at upscale neighborhood of Downtown Boise, Taj Mahal is a haven for Indo- Mughlai flavor lovers. It caters to variety of tastes be it vegetarian, non vegetarian or vegan. The restaurant is owned by a lovely and polite couple. The husband manages the place, is super welcoming, helpful and makes you feel like family; which is extremely rare these... More

You can tell their food is prepared fresh. My wife and I love to eat here if we are craving for Indian food. I love their Biryani and curry. Would have been 5 stars if the wait time can be shortened.

We visited for lunch based on some positive responses. It was s disappointment from both cost and value standpoints. Tandoori platter for 25 bucks brings you a little bit of over fried chicken and a 3 inch long meat kabob. I would not pay $5 for this quality food. Vegetable korma had a lot sauce and very few vegetables. I... More

My daughter and I had a great meal at the Taj Mahal. We had appetizers, a shrimp dish, rogan josh, and rice pudding for dessert. The beer selection is exceptional, featuring a number of beers I had never heard of. The onion naan was freshly made, soft, warm and fragrant. We will go back next time we visit Boise.

Ate here while in Boise while on business. On a lonely evening, I trekked here from nearer the airport and had my spirits suitably raised by the friendly welcome. I had the Aloo Samosa to start, followed by chicken Madras with garlic naan - what I tend to have on my first visit to a new SE Asian restaurant and... More

Ambiance: Taj is a nice place. The room has some odd corners, but it general it's well laid out and enough rooms between tables to be reasonably private. Average furnishings, and a nice cultural corner in the back featuring something Bollywood on the screen. Staff: Very nice people, very attentive. Food & Drink: Great beer selection, though I'll admit I... More

Taj Mahal is my favorite Indian restaurant. From business meetings to family celebrations, they serve up delicious dishes. The Naan bread is to die for. And the beer selection is amazing!
