We love the lamb grinders and croquettas here. It's a tiny place, but we always manage to find a spot for our family of four. Their service isn't the best, but the food is well worth it once you get it. Normal wait time is between 20-30 minutes, so don't be in a rush. Have a beer!

Gernika is a small pub and Basque restaurant located across from the Grove hotel on Capitol Blvd. Their daily soup is homemade and delicious! I enjoy the lamb kabobs. The meals are all very reasonably priced and come with your choice of a cup of soup, salad, fries or croquetas. They also have a beef tongue special on Saturdays.

It was crowded (Thur night) but we grabbed seats at the bar. Yes, the waiters are a bit gruff (deliberately so), but the food and beer are good and conversation among locals interesting. Two sandwich specialties--both were good (although I liked lamb better).

We were pleasanty surprised by Boise overall. My 18 year old son and I were visiting Boise for a Niece's wedding on Friday August 8 and got into town very early on August 7 and did some sightseeing before the wedding. Overall it was a great day outside in Boise. We stayed at the Grove Hotel, within a block of... More

Having found this Basque pub by accident, we were impressed by the quality and selection of the dishes and drinks offered at very reasonable prices. We tried the Basque Cheese Plate which include a generous selection of Spanish cheeses and fresh French bread, and the Grilled Veggie Sandwich. This pub is open late, has a homey, welcoming atmosphere, and the... More

Spicy Lamb Grinder, Croquetas, and Chorizo = best pub meal anywhere. Service was superb (thanks Jody!). And dining outside made for great observations of "Boise life." I would (and will) return in a heartbeat....just wish it would franchise!

My wife and I went and sat down at a nice table outside. Food was good service was meh. Servers couldn't be bothered. But the nice atmosphere and food gave it four stars in my book.

While the food may seem eclectic to some, it has a wonderful down home taste. The food has a very European flair, with an earthiness that makes you feel warm. The beers offered are largely local brews and are fun to sample.

Being Basque myself- a visit to the Restaurant is a must. The food and atmosphere are amazing and similar to the Old Country.

The Basque food was so-so. Nice atmosphere and good service, but it was far from your typical Basque menu.
