A few of my good friends had told me that Angell's had new owners and more recently got a new head chef too. I remember when Jack Chase use to run things years ago and we ALL loved his food, so after some great comments I decided to check it out for lunch. I tried the special of switzersnitzel (spelling)... Our choir group held our year end banquet at Angell's. Everything ran smoothly. We had a set amount per person to spend (without drinks) and Marika was able to come back with several options. Our food was hot and tasty (not one complaint!)! The staff could not have been more helpful - we had to rearrange some tables after eating... More

True disappointment. Mothers Day Buffet was small; very sparse in what was available; gravy; quiche; potatoes; remained empty. 1 small ham carving spot. Squeezed into seating areas; bartender couldn't keep up w bloody Mary's or mimosas at 2pm; stopped the Bloody Mary "bar" bc of staffing; manager swearing "f" this. I was so embarrassed that we chose such a flop... More

Went there for Mothers Day to have their buffet, first of all the restaurant is way to small to even have a buffet, it was a mess, food everywhere, people standing everywhere because it was too small, we were brought back to our table that hadn't been cleaned, so we got to stand there, then the service was horrible, had... My husband and I dined on a Saturday night. We had 7:30 dinner reservations, but arrived 10 minutes early. The hostess was friendly enough. Upon being seated, our server Robert approached and assured us he would bring water soon. Everything went well enough concerning taking our order, wine delivery, and arrival of wild mushroom bruschetta appetizer. The the wait for... More

Went to a conference today and several of us went here for lunch. When you first walk in the doors, you can tell right away things are different than they used to be. The bar is more open, and the lounge type seating is much more well lit, and inviting. The décor is like before. The ceiling fans are my... More

I used to eat at Angell's when in town on business. Wondered what it would be like now with new owners when I was overnight in town. Dropped in about 7:30 pm, not very many customers. Ate at bar, friendly bartender. Menu looked similar to old days, but I went with light dinner of calamari and Caesar salad. Both very... More

We LOVED the old Angells. So much that my husband proposed to me there in 2001 because he felt it was the perfect place. Sorry, but the new Angells just doesn't even come close. Our servers were sweet but inexperienced, and the food was so-so on both occasions. Unless something drastically changes, we won't be back. Sadly.

This used to be a regular spot for I and my friends. None of us had been back since it had been re-opened by a new owner. We showed up around 8 pm on a weeknight. The bar was lit so bright that I thought maybe they had closed and the cleaning crew was coming in. No tv's were on.... More

Yeah. Apparently, the chef quit the night before our visit. 1st selection: not available tonight. 2nd: nope. How about clams with green curry sauce? Sounds good. They were tasty - even though they were mussels, not clams. Limited wine list. Overall: mediocre. I prefer Chandlers, which is a short walk away.
