After reading other's reviews, I think I was at a different restaurant. In all fairness, the staff was very nice and pleasant, however, the food was not to our liking - a little bit too exotic for us. We really enjoyed the food the "old" Angell's served and dined there often.

First the food...so good, and perfectly prepared by a French chef. Don't be off put by the French menu, the food is absolutely wonderful. The rack of lamb was by far the best lamb we have ever had. We had dinner on a Saturday night and we expected to wait and have it be loud. Neither was the case. This... More

We had not been here since the big ownership change and I was under the impression that it was not as classy as it used to be. I was so wrong! The decor romantic. The soft jazz music in the background is wonderful. We came during happy hour which was 2 for 1 drinks and the house wine was very... More

Attentive service, interesting menu, quiet and comfortable inside on a very hot Boise evening. They do the blended, slurry gazpacho (we prefer the thin soup with add-them-yourself vegetable chunks and croutons, but restaurants everywhere seem to be doing the thicker one). My wife's fish was well prepared. My schnitzel (pork cutlets in this case) was quite good. Portions are generous.... More

A few of my good friends had told me that Angell's had new owners and more recently got a new head chef too. I remember when Jack Chase use to run things years ago and we ALL loved his food, so after some great comments I decided to check it out for lunch. I tried the special of switzersnitzel (spelling)... Our choir group held our year end banquet at Angell's. Everything ran smoothly. We had a set amount per person to spend (without drinks) and Marika was able to come back with several options. Our food was hot and tasty (not one complaint!)! The staff could not have been more helpful - we had to rearrange some tables after eating... More

True disappointment. Mothers Day Buffet was small; very sparse in what was available; gravy; quiche; potatoes; remained empty. 1 small ham carving spot. Squeezed into seating areas; bartender couldn't keep up w bloody Mary's or mimosas at 2pm; stopped the Bloody Mary "bar" bc of staffing; manager swearing "f" this. I was so embarrassed that we chose such a flop... More

Went there for Mothers Day to have their buffet, first of all the restaurant is way to small to even have a buffet, it was a mess, food everywhere, people standing everywhere because it was too small, we were brought back to our table that hadn't been cleaned, so we got to stand there, then the service was horrible, had... My husband and I dined on a Saturday night. We had 7:30 dinner reservations, but arrived 10 minutes early. The hostess was friendly enough. Upon being seated, our server Robert approached and assured us he would bring water soon. Everything went well enough concerning taking our order, wine delivery, and arrival of wild mushroom bruschetta appetizer. The the wait for... More

Went to a conference today and several of us went here for lunch. When you first walk in the doors, you can tell right away things are different than they used to be. The bar is more open, and the lounge type seating is much more well lit, and inviting. The décor is like before. The ceiling fans are my... More
