The Basque Market is located in the heart of The Basque Block in downtown Boise, Idaho. We specialize in imports from the Basque Country and the Iberian Peninsula. Come get a taste of Spain during our daily tapas lunch, and on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday enjoy paella served on our patio. Happy Hour at The Basque Market means relaxing with a glass of fine wine or indulging in our specialty, frozen Sangria Blanco! We can cater parties large or small and have a wonderful pick-up menu for when you don't feel like cooking. Cooking classes and wine tasting events are open to the public throughout the year!

Great market!

After years of having this place on the bucket list, we finally decided this was the trip to go an extra two hours out of the way to visit The Basque Market, and were so happy we did. We were here with a large group for lunch. They serve Pincho (the Basque equivalent to Tapas). Everything was delicious! It is a great way to sample a lot of different things. They also serve wine and beer! I highly recommend this place, it is fun and different!! And since it is a market you can buy most of the... More

We went at the tail end of the Paella lunch on a Wednesday. It was a bit crowded and hectic when we arrived, but the staff went out of their way to make sure that we go what we needed and that we had a good experience. Even if you aren't eating there, I would suggest going by on a... More

One Sunday each month The Basque Market offers a fixed price breakfast menu for hearty appetites. It is very popular and it is advisable to make your reservation about a month ahead of time to ensure a place at the long tables serving the Basque Sheepherder style breakfast. Everything is included in the meal, except the white sangrias (which I... More

I'd expected a large market with variety of Basque food but found a small store with some deli food. The Friday night dinners may be good but we didn't experience them.

Our group had a wonderful block party here the last night of our convention. These people held dancing, fixed amazing paella for us and the store had a huge Basque and Spanish wine cheese and meat selection. The owners were great helping me select wines I would like and brig him. Wonderful experience!

Went here for a business dinner. Had no idea what Basque food was all about - and while it was a bit heavy on the starches, it was amazing. We were there on a Tuesday night - it was pretty quiet, but it was a memorable evening. Ate and ate and ate and ate - and drank some, too, but... More

Accidentally stumbled upon this great market after eating at a cafe next door. True family business with a young lady who helped me find both dulce and picante paprika and toured me around the other offerings- up-sold me on some delectable tuna as well. Great place.

If you can get here when they have paella available, you are in for a treat. Great tapas as well, and often have wine tasting with wines from Basque country. First Thursdays are a favorite for the wide selection of food and drink.

Cooking Classes are very popular and we were fortunate to attend The Basque Market’s Paella Class. This was a fabulous evening which included a Paella cooking demonstration by Tara McElhose-Eiguren where we learned how to use traditional techniques to prepare a delicious seafood, chorizo and chicken paella. We also sampled their Olive Tapenade served on Crostini. , the finished paella... More
