Description: The Basque Market is located in the heart of The Basque Block in downtown Boise, Idaho. We specialize in imports from the Basque Country and the Iberian Peninsula. Come get a taste of Spain during our daily tapas lunch, and on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday enjoy paella served on our patio. Happy Hour at The Basque Market means relaxing with a glass of gourmet wine or indulging in our specialty, frozen Sangria Blanco! We can cater parties large or small and have a wonderful pick-up menu for when you don't feel like cooking. Cooking classes and wine tasting events are open to the public throughout the year!

We eat here every few weeks for pintxos and vino. Pintxos is the Basque word for "tapas" They have an assortment of tapas on the bar and you are charged based on the type of toothpick in the tapa. So, save them! We use the Smart City card and we get a discount on the tapas and wine, so it's... More

We visited upon the recommendation of a friend and while we had a pleasant visit, $38 for two tiny tapas, two paellas, and two small pours of sharp pedestrian Spanish wine, seemed a bit much for lunch where we ordered at the counter. I realize one oughtn't complain about the serving size of poor wine being small, but still... The... More

Best empenadas in the US. Incredible combination of market, wine shop and eatery in the Basque district. Idaho has the 2nd largest concentration of Basque outside of the Basque homeland and their love of great food and wine is clearly shown in this market. This is not only a great place to shop and eat, but also, a great place... More

No need to travel to Spain if you want traditional wines, cheeses and hams from Basque country. The Basque Market will fill your needs.

Interesting market. Did not eat there but purchased several bottles of wine after testing. Wines were excellent, from Sosin, and very reasonably priced.

Not only are the folks working at Basque Market very friendly, so were the other people we met there, locals who have this place on their regular rotation. As was our experience with everyone we met in Boise, they were welcoming and eager to encourage us to explore their city with suggestions for what not to miss. On that note,... More

We'd heard about the paella nights at the Basque Market, so we went to give it a try. We started out with a few tapas which my husband worried about since some of them had been sitting out for a while. Others were hot and/or made to order. The wines being served are hit or miss. They do give you... More

While on a trip with a large group of friends, we dined at The Basque Market and found the experience to be tremendous, even close to sensational. We all had the freshly prepared paella and it was to die for! The flavors were excellently intertwined and produced a most flavorful experience. And then the white sangria........a most excellent drink to... More

My husband and I were lucky enough to try the paella last Thursday. For a $13 dinner we received the delicious paella, three tapas, salad, and a roll. The market has a small outdoor and a small indoor seating area, which were very cute. My husband usually refuses shellfish but was able to easily share that part with me!

While this is a small market, the food prepared and served here is so delicious and unusual. Check their schedule to be sure you get there when tapas are being served. Monday - Saturday from 12 - 3 as well as Tue., Thur. and Fri. from 4 - 8 p.m. The staff are friendly, and happy to explain everything about... More
