We have dined at the Castle Ranch Steakhouse several times over the past 2 years and have yet to be disappointed. I opt for the Filet for dinner while my wife usually has the salmon. Both are excellent! What makes the Filet Mignon at $32 such a good deal is of course the high quality beef and what is included... More

I have eaten here many times and I am never dissapointed with the food. They are also efficiant and when they tell you when your order is going to be done it actually gets done. It is awesome.

Our first visit was driven by the reviews here. It was excellent and we were glad we took the chance even with the mixed reviews. Our second visit went south as soon as the waiter provided a requested straw that was unwrapped and of course touched with the waiter's hands. The second disappointment was when our bread was served with... More

My boyfriend and I visited Castle Ranch for dinner. The restaurant is located in a conference center hotel (The Boise Hotel) which lends to its lack in atmosphere. The hostess/server was nice, and she did a good job. However, her service could not make up for the less than desirable food. Sad to say, it was like your average hotel... More

The service was terrible from the start. One person was trying to manage 4 tables, tend bar, and I think, also do the cooking. Food was extremely overdone. It took 40 minutes to get the order, and when informed that the meal was unsatisfactory, was offered a new meal. Already waited 40 minutes, so declined and left the meal uneaten.

We'd hoped this would be a hidden gem. It's a loser. Some reasons: 80's pop music competing with the basketball game playing in the sports bar. Half walls in between a restaurant and sports bar, really? Slow service. Very poor wine selection. One style wine glass for all wines. The idea of "buy Idaho" is good - except for wine!... More

I recently visited Castleranch Steakhouse with my family, as part of their Christmas gift. The steaks we ordered were fabulous. Truly, the Double R Ranch steaks are the way to go if you are in Idaho-- no joke! We enjoyed a fabulous app of bacon wrapped shrimp and proshuitto. The wines that we also ordered were great. I found the... More

We dined here for the first time on New Year's Eve. We called a couple of days before to make reservations and learned that dinner that night was a limited four course (app, salad, entree, desert) menu and cost $40 a plate. We were told they were expecting to have a good size crowd (a table next to us had... More

I've had a fantastic breakfast here, then a mediocre dinner. The trout is always a good choice, but the fajita wraps and fries are fairly tasteless . Their omelettes are very tasty.

I went back to the Castle Ranch Steak house, and the menu does'nt look like a steak house menu any more, it looks more like a coffee shop. When I asked why the change, I was told that the ownership of the hotel had changed and the chef that had been there for the last four years had left. Its... More
