The restaurant is a 5 minute taxi ride from downtown Boise. The decor is amazing. While the good was good - I wouldn't call it great. Although the table side guacamole was fantastic and my wife loved her martini that came in a ice molded martini glass. We shared a 16 ounce steak which was cooked perfectly but was a... More

The decoration is great and the reviews is more the exaggerating! I respect all the reviews, but my opinion is the restaurant won't consider it as a fancy restaurant! because my rating depends on food value, food decoration, food quality, food combination, and the well knowing of mixing each ingredient. The decoration is great, food decoration is great, but the... More

I was staying nearby and had dinner at this restaurant. What a pleasant surprise! The quirky interior design involving natural wood and stone is complemented by the interesting lighting choices. Of course, who cares if the restaurant is nicely appointed if the food stinks, but that was not the case. Started the meal with the made-at-the-table guacamole which was delicious!... More

Five of us went for dinner here and I must say the ambiance and decor inside the restaurant is great. There is also outside seating with a river view. We had the guacamole table side service which was excellent. The main courses were all super good and desert (ice cream puffs on a "tree") was fantastic.

My husband and I went to Barbacoa tonight with friends. It came highly recommended to us (we are in town from Dallas). I made reservations for 6:30 we got there right on time. They tried to seat us outside at first, never asked if we would like inside or out. Considering it's 100 degrees out, I asked to sit inside.... More

From the 4 to 6 PM daily Happy Hour...to the delicious appys....like the kobe sliders to the civiche trio to the Latin chopped salad. ..I've never had a bad dish. I'd give a perfect 10 except for the damn flies sitting in the bar area. And I'm not talking bar flies. Need to bring my Deep Woods Off next time.

This is by far my favorite restaurant in Boise. My co-workers and I attend a Salon conference in Boise every spring and we never miss Barbacoa. It is one of the highlights of our trip. They have AMAZING tableside guacamole, excellent seafood dishes, and the most wonderful Hot Rock Filet, but their Risotto is out of this world! The atmosphere... More

We have eaten here 2 times while visiting Boise and it was excellent both times. You must try the table side guacamole. They create it for you before your eyes to your specifications. The staff are friendly and very professional. They have lots of trendy cool presentations for their food, cool cocktails with popsicles or ice cups. A must try... More

I took my daughter here for her birthday celebration after hearing what a great place it was. Wrong. It is VERY expensive, sort of snooty and just the wrong place for family. Perhaps if I had more money and wanted to do happy hour, I'd consider. It looked like there was a lot of action in the bar area. The... More
