I've eaten at the Barbacoa before and wanted to take friends. It was still as awesome as before! For a new experience in dining and to be blown away with the presentation of food, try Barbacoa. The service is very good and the atmosphere is very cool! Spend the money for a great meal. If you can get a seat... More

Visited this eclectic restaurant in March and had one of the most creative fun and delicious meals ever. The special du jour was Halibut on a cedar plank. The halibut was succulent and cooked to perfection. I am only disappointed because I know I will never taste halibut this good again! Barbacoa serves a tableside guacamole, flavored to guest preference.... More

Nice setting on a pond with mountains in the background. When we arrived, the mountains were glowing. The restaurant was crowded and noisy, and it was hard to even hear the waitress. Guacamole prepared on a cart by the table was very good and plentiful. The food was well prepared and very well presented. Although steaks are emphasized, the scallops... More

I have eaten here almost once a week for the last year and a half while on business in Boise . The food is always good , my favorites are the shrimp fajitas, steak sandwich , and any fish dish they have as a special . Good wine list , good service and wonderful atmosphere, you must walk around and... More

Went here to celebrate my daughter's birthday. It is very upscale and you almost forget you are in a beautiful country setting such as Boise. The bar scene was very similar to that of Las Vegas. Lots of fun. Will do it again and the food was exceptional.

The atmosphere is only topped by the service and food. It's romantic, not girly, but in a Latin way, that both men and women can appreciate. We eat here for our anniversary and had a nice meal, were treated special, and enjoyed every minute. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for something unique that can't be found in the... Great bar scene and very good food. Leads the state in liquor purchases every year (Idaho operates a state controlled liquor dispensary.) Decor borders between gaudy and brilliant, with massive amounts of money spent on artwork. Owner was recently implicated in drug trafficking. Hey, artwork is expensive!

From the moment we entered the restaurant, we were welcomed and greeted with enthusiasm and gracious service. We odered from the appetiser menu and the dishes were perfect! The large shrimp cocktail was the most delicious I've had in years! And, the shrimp are truly LARGE! Tableside guacamole was so delicious, trumping any we've had in Mexican restaurants! Also, ordered... More

The quality of the food was good. The real value was in the way the restaurant presented its menu in a fun, relaxing and entertaining way. Yes, the guacamole was homemade, fresh to order and great tasting. The main entrees were tasty but not "4 star" creative or different. The ice cream tree was a great treat for our teenagers... More

First off let me say that the happy hour here rocks! Buy one get one free...check out the raspberry mojitos!! We had to make reservations here. We went for dinner and there were a lot of us so we got a pretty good sample of the menu. Appetizer menu much better than dinner menu. The FLIES were horrible in this... More
