We have been to Barbacoa many times, and it is always good, with excellent ice-tinis, appetizers, entrees, and good service. I have to give them a little slack, because it is the Holiday Season, and they were busy, although we did have reservations. We started off in the lounge with drinks, and were then called to the dining room for... More

This is the second time we have gone to Barbacoa with our daughter who attends BSU. The first time we were seated in the bar area, which was quite entertaining for a teenager given all the colorful locals partying it up. Last night we were seated in the main dining area, and once again lots of locals partying it up... More

Barbacoa, I love you. As usual, we had a great dinner. The mojitos were fabulous (strips of sugar cane were a wonderful addition). Service was attentive, friendly, professional. The calamari and quacamole were excellent. BUT. The paella is not what it used to be. It lacked spice--is the sausage less spicy, did you forget to add something? It also lacked... More

We decided to go out to eat for Thanksgiving dinner. In the Boise Weekly paper, we saw several listings for Thanksgiving. My spouse wanted something other than a buffet, but I did not find such a thing. Since TripAdvisor travelers had rated Barbacoa highly, we decided to make reservations. There was one buffet line for salads. These were not your... More

Wonderful atmosphere and the food is to die for. In the summer sitting out on the patio and looking at the lighted cross on table rock. AMAZING & romantic. A little pricy but the atmosphere feels like you are in a restaurant on the Vegas strip.

Barbacoa is one of our favorite happy hour spots, especially for our monthly girls group. The drink specials are great and they do generous wine pours. You must try the table side guacamole- it is heavenly. And did I mention the decor? See for yourself - it's a one-of-a kind, eccentric place! Downside - expect a crowd, and a bit... More

I just returned recently, the first time since it burned down and was rebuilt. We arrived early and had well-poured 2 for one drinks from the friendly and fast bartender in the interior bar, and were seated outside by the pond without delay. We were in no rush, and the server let us take our time but kept a watchful... More

Drinks and happy hour small plates at the rooftop bar on a summer afternoon: one of the better Boise experiences.
