Overall, a good place to experience

The atmosphere is fun and a patio table would be the way to go, weather permitting. It was hard to hear our server and the room was pretty chilly. A staff person said the air flow hit the wall we were at kept it cooler there. We had guacamole at the table and it was good. My steak was good... read more

Never been offered two types of water before. That was new. Food is pricey but the portions are HUGE. I ordered a seafood type soup and there was plenty for two people. Ordered the bread as an appetizer and wasn't really impressed. It was blah, not bad but nothing to get overly excited about. The decorations were very beautiful. Had... More

This place has a great reputation in Boise, so I was delighted when my husband and I finally decided to try it. (It's expensive, at least by our standards, so we waited for a special occasion.) So how was it? The decor was very unique and impressive, which in and of itself made it a worthwhile experience. However, I was... More

It's not often a restaurant that provides an experience also comes through with a delicious meal. Fun and fanciful describes both the atmosphere and the food. Our table had the guacamole, onion rings, hot rock steak, seafood grill, chopped salad with shrimp, sautéed mushrooms and garlic mashed potatoes. It was all very good! The presentation is fantastic and the service... More

We went for happy hour and it was fabulous! 2 for one cocktails....and not the crummy well drinks and cheap wine, it applied to any of their drinks under $15. Love the martini's served in a glass made of ice. Table side guacamole was fantastic as were all of the appetizers we tried. Great service, awesome ambiance.

I LOVE Barbacoa. Being a college student, I can't afford it myself...so this is a place to go with the parents or on a hot date with someone who can afford it! They have some of the most unusual dishes I've seen, but you really cannot go wrong with anything you order. I always look forward to going here. The... More

Our family really enjoyed our meal at Barbacoa. We definitely couldn't eat there often but the experience was fun. Just the restaurant's decor and atmosphere was enticing. My kids ended up eating from the appetizer menu and it was perfect. My husband and I selected items from the entree menu and we got too much food. The chicken pot pie... More

The food was so-so, but the final product was worth the cost of the food. Beautiful, unique presentation of entrees, with interesting menu. Food is delivered in the most remarkable way, and this restaurant is a must see while in Boise. And be sure to try the cocktails in the frozen cocktail glasses (mango martini is awesome) and the cotton... More

One of the best most inventive restaurants I've been to. Every aspect was unique. It's hard to describe but you definitely should eat here! The atmosphere is something like old west meets Madrid ultramodern. Endlessly entertaining. The service is excellent. Loved our guacamole steward...made fresh right at your table! Cocktails were cool...martini served in a cup made of ice...perfectly chilled.... More

The food was excellent. I've been several times and have never had a bad meal. The service was excellent once you got past the front end (They think a bit more of themselves than they should). The patio is fantastic
