Casual, fun atmosphere and good food

This is a very casual restaurant with upscale menu items (spicy pimento cheese sandwich with a fried green tomato and bacon, crab cake benedict, etc.). We went to Freight for brunch on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. I had the French toast with fresh fruit and cheese grits. Incredible! The fruit was very fresh and sweet. The grits had a creamy texture. My husband had the burger with a fried egg and fresh fruit. We could barely finish our plates with the generous amount of food.... More

I would really give this above average, but that's not a choice. This place didn't have anything really special or great that I have tried, but not bad...been here a few times, never really disappointed, but never eager for the next...if that helps..if you can't find many options, it's reliable above average for the area

I have been here numerous timwe and the food has always been great. Local ingredients and a focus on quality make this a place I look forward to dining at. The Braise is my go to item on the menu. If you are a fan of Spirits, they got you covered. Extensive Bourbon and Craft Beer list.

The braised pork is like none other.....great speciality dish to try with your favorite beverage while watching the happenings of Downtown Woodstock from Freight's patio!

A good much-needed break from the chain restaurants. Friendly servers and good atmosphere! The whole family enjoyed it even the kids.

Freight is fantastic for beer. The food menu was a little disappointing. I appreciate twists on classic food items, but some seemed like a stretch. Classic Southern food is not meant to be fancy, keep it simple.

Met a friend there for drinks at the bar. Had two Bailey's and coffees each. My husband later joined us and had two beers. When the bartender brought the bill she had charged us for the pot of coffee. It was over $5.00. When I asked her about it saying I have never been charged for the coffee when used... More

We sat outside for lunch and the patio was great. Overall the food is average at best. Had to send one lunch back as it was not cooked correctly. Service could be better.

We keep coming back because their special braised pork with collard greens and cheesy grits is yummy as is the Creme Brûlée. BUT, the service at lunch time continues to be hit-or-miss, MOSTLY MISS. Today's waiter couldn't get the drink order correct, couldn't keep our drinks refilled, couldn't or wouldn't bring food in the order requested (asked for dessert first... More
