Lots of little things kept the rating from being higher. The smell when we first walked in the door smelled like dirty bathrooms. It was almost enough to leave, and if we'd had to wait for a table, we probably would have. But we were seated instantly, nowhere near the restrooms, so the smell wasn't noticeable at the table. We... More

Took the kids here with one of the coupons they always seem to send in the mail. The food was overpriced and worse than what I can cook at home, and I'm not that great a cook. The Irish Boxty I ordered was literally a standard hamburger patty over some under-cooked shredded hash browns with a Kraft single semi-melted on... More

Shepherds pie had no taste. I know its hard to believe. Reuben wasn't bad but Mcalister's is much better. I would not go back for food or drinks. There are many other places nearby that are better.

We celebrated a special event within the family. We were seated in a separate area and received individual attention from the service staff. Menu offered not only Irish specialties but several more traditional American choices. Our food was extremely well prepared and quite tasty.

Great pour on a variety of beers; fun bar food. Beer was priced well (mine was a hearty pint for less than $5 for an import; my boyfriend's a domestic for $3). We kept it simple with the food, and you must try the signature cheese sauce. We will definitely go again. Patio looked like it'd be fun for game... More

We just rediscovered Donovans after taking a break from eating out over the past year. The outdoor patio of course is a major draw. Comfy seats, TV for sports, great atmosphere, very relaxing. The menu has plenty to offer, and the last four times we have made it a point to try something new. No complaints. The food seems simple,... More

This pub was just okay- not great, not terrible. My husband and I went on a Friday at about 5 p.m., and it was pretty dead in there, minus a few regulars. I was immediately not too impressed when the waitress told us about the drink specials and only looked at my husband while she was talking, as if I... More

Ok, it's not really an Irish pub. But it's as close as one can get in Woodstock. We've been to Donovan's a few times and enjoyed each visit. The service is efficient and polite. The Donovan's Cheese Dip is excellent as is the Fish & Chips, Shepherds Pie, Boxty and Salmon. Add a Guinness and what's not to like? On... More

The covered patio with overhead heaters was welcomed by some patrons after being soaked by a sudden rain that interrupted a nearby round of golf. Management even provided cigar smokers special cigar ash treys. The black and tan served me thrice was never very cold and the boxty was close to Irish. It did offer, as many Irish meals do,... More

This is not a real Irish pub. It does have some elements, mainly of the libation kind. Been twice for lunch and I do make better cornbeef hash at home. Mixed better and moister by far. The fish and chips had a too thick eggy batter and while cooked nicely wasn't overly inspiring. Would probably enjoy it more if I... More
