Home cooking from scratch

Miss sue cooks all the food herself made from scratch just like mother used to make. Chicken tenders and macaroni and cheese are the best. I promise you'll come back for more once you've tried Magnolia Place.

I know they're open for dinner, but I've only eaten here for Sunday lunch. It's a buffet of homemade Southern staples, and the food is delicious! The restaurant is in a beautiful old house just a block or so off the main street. The food has been great every time we've eaten here.

The first time my family visited was to hold my daughters bridal shower. The food was amazing, the staff was so attentive, always checking to see what we needed or how they could help. So, my sis-in-law wanted to hold her mother's 90th birthday there a few months later. HORRIBLE experience. Food still great, but absolutely no staff to serve... More

Came across this establishment purely by happenstance - and I am SOOOOO glad. Went in on a Friday evening, and the buffet was great. Saying this is good "home-cooking" just doesn't do it justice. The homemade biscuits were as good as my mother made, and the banana pudding was the best I have eaten in years! Not to mention the... More

Magnolia has a great buffet with some of the best chicken strips I have ever eaten. There are always several different meats and vegetables on the buffet and the fried okra is very good. Dessert is included also.

We were driving through and decided to try someplace new and landed here. The old house has such potential but unfortunately no one has bothered. The Buffett subtle food has a very very limited selection. Chicken tenders and fried fish, done. Too pricey for what they offer. The saving grace is the desserts... They are very good.

Magnolia is a much overlooked place in Winder! They have awesome country cooking and the hot banana pudding is the best I've ever had! We try to go at least once a month!

We went on a Sunday for traditional southern cooking. You can't complain (as some do regarding Southern food) that's it's oversalted. In fact, you'll have to use your salt shaker for several of the meats (roast beef and pork) and some of the vegetables (mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, butter peas). The food was still good, and we especially liked... More

It was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant in my life and I am 65 years old. We had a reservation for 21 people and they could not seat us at the time of our reservation or together. We noticed this was happening to some other groups. They were rude and part of our party left... More
