I was worried, cause I read it was a Cajun place, but I got non-spicy food. I had Pecan Crusted Catfish. ....OMG....YUM. The service was great. The prices was a bit high for us, but heck we got A LOT of food and a military discount. We tired the beer on tap and they was GOOD also.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2015 NEW

Went back to original location after trying the new location. Restaurant was dark, dingy, sticky table. Crab cakes were all cake and no crab, shrimp beignets were spicy but also mostly dough. Fish dish was a big sauce covered thing on a tiny plate. Poor presentation! Gumbo still good, but andouille sausage was not up to par. Won't be back... More

We discovered Gabe’s Downtown Lousiana Bistro the evening we arrived for a May visit to Villa Rica in May. And it was absolutely wonderful. Although we were in the area to see the sites of Atlanta (45 miles away), we always looked forward to driving back to Villa Rica for dinner at Gabe’s. The food was well prepared and attractively... I've eaten here many times. I'm never disappointed. For our anniversary my husband and I went to the new location in Douglasville. It was just as wonderful as the original!! The hurricanes are real (not from a mix) and very yummy. The food is incredible. I've never had anything on the menu that wasn't amazing. The staff is very friendly... More

Came with my wife and two of my kids for dinner. Ordered 1 entree and three appetizers and still came home with extra food. Everything was at least very good bordering on incredible.

We were so excited to go to the new Gabe's in Douglasville since we love the one in Villa Rica. Must say that we were disappointed. Decor was very strange - no warmth like you would expect in a Cajun restaurant. Seemed aseptic. Furniture seemed like what you would expect in a Denny's. Fried green tomato appetizer and gumbo were... More

Wow! What an incredible menu. Lunch portions are very generous. Salads were fresh. Coconut shrimp was scrumptious! Tomato bisque soup was stellar. Looking forward to a return visit!

The food here is great, I highly recommend the egg rolls as an appetizer, and the staff is always friendly. It's a bit expensive, but the portions are typically pretty big so you get your money's worth.

My wife and I found out about Gabe's on TA. We walked in around 5:30 on a Saturday evening without a reservation. With a short wait, we were seated and placed our order. I started with a Goat Cheese Salad. My wife ordered the Maytag Salad. The lettuce was all bite sized, each lightly coated with balsamic vinegar. Talk about... More

What a pleasant surprise! 3 of us did shopping & lunch @ Gabe's. I had their sausage & chicken gumbo with a Maytag salad. Simply delicious. Can't wait to try other items on their menu.
