At Steel Magnolias in Valdosta, GA our food base is urban Southern, taking the roots of classic Southern cuisine and showing a new way of looking at them. We serve our fare with an old familiar smile, where our patrons are surprised by a new approach, yet still know the secret handshake. We prepare the best quality ingredients at the freshest possible point and allow them to speak for themselves. We support local farmers and Artesian producers in an effort to become a supporting element in the community and drive our “eat local, be local” philosophy.

Stopped at 5pm to eat for my birthday to avoid the crowds. One couple was at one table in the entire restaurant. Was told they only had one table avail without a reservation. We asked for another table so we were not in the direct line of the servers walking back and forth to the kitchen. Unable to change we... More

We came to Valdosta on a college visit. Tried this restaurant because of the trip advisor rating. So happy we went. When we first saw the prices we were a little taken back but it was worth every penny.Food was DELICIOUS. Planning on going there again before we head back home to Ringgold.

We had a wonderful appetizer, crispy duck with grits, that was so good I understood the reviewer (on another site) who said he'd order two of these appetizers for his dinner on his next visit. We wanted a little more variety, so my husband and I shared their long-bone pork chop recommended by our server, Landon. We chose the kale... More

We stopped in for an early lunch. The decor is very cute and the menu interesting. The service was very prompt. The wraps were OK. But, The sides were great. Should have done all sides. Good place to eat

Our New Year's Eve dinner featured mostly fine southern cuisine but rushed service. We felt as if our table needed to be turned so that some later reservation could be accommodated--not how we expected to by treated by a restaurant at this price point. The pear salad and shrimp and grits and pork tenderloin entrees were excellent. The pulled pork... More

We were tired after the drive through Atlanta and decided to overnight in Valdosta. Scoured TripAdvisor and saw that Steel Magnolia's had very good ratings. I called to confirm that a 9p dinner time would be OK and after doing some checking, the woman said yes. It's a little bit hard to find, but is on a one-way street (on... More

My husband and I went for our anniversary. This restaurant has the perfect amount of charm and atmosphere, it was great for our special night! Great food and service. We shared the fried green tomatoes, those were good. I had the fried chicken breast with greens and sweet potatoes, excellent fried chicken and the greens were just as good as... More

One of the best, most creative, outstanding meals I have ever had ANYWHERE! This town is in the middle of a renaissance makeover so our initial reaction was "is this the place?' jammed packed for lunch. Super local foods, open kitchen, we started with deviled eggs with pulled pork and cabbage. Yum!!! Staff warm and welcome, chef delivered our dishes.... More
