Description: At Steel Magnolias in Valdosta, GA our food base is urban Southern, taking the roots of classic Southern cuisine and showing a new way of looking at them. We serve our fare with an old familiar smile, where our patrons are surprised by a new approach, yet still know the secret handshake. We prepare the best quality ingredients at the freshest possible point and allow them to speak for themselves. We support local farmers and Artesian producers in an effort to become a supporting element in the community and drive our “eat local, be local” philosophy.

I really wanted to love this place! It's downtown Valdosta which we love. The food was good, it's one of those places they tell you the origin of EVERYTHING on your plate. Love the old building but we've been there now under 3 different restaurants. Wish they had an elevator as the highlight for folks seems to be the rooftop... More

Came here by recommendation of the hotel we stayed at on the way to our honeymoon cruise. We ate up on the roof while a musician played and it was beautiful! The food was pricey but worth it and we were on special occasion. Our server made great suggestions and we loved the food. The shrimp and grits was stellar.... More

This restaurant is in a wanna be historic downtown. Well worth the extra 2-3 miles off the interstate to find it. It's an old place, that has been beautifully restored. We ate on the rooftop! Loved it. We had fried green tomatoes, pear salad, Pimento Mac n cheese, Brussel sprouts with bacon, shrimp and grits. All excellent. The drink menu was... More

My sister and I were shopping in downtown Valdosta and went to Steel Magnolias for lunch. I love the decor and how it is arrange. The waiter was very helpful in helping us make our selection and the food was amazing! My sister had the burger of the day and truffle french fries and she thought it was amazing and... More

I had a delicious salad, but service was not super. The chicken pot pie that my husband ordered was strange--maybe it was southern style. The prices were good. We won't return.

On our way from Florida to Atlanta we stopped, for the night in Valdosta, GA. We didn't want to eat in a chain restaurant so I did some research prior to the trip. I selected Steel Magnolias because of the reviews and the website. It was a Saturday night and I hadn't made a reservation. For some reason I called in... More

Passing through to Florida we stopped in Valdosta GA specifically to try Steel Magnolias as you will have to drive in just a bit from the highway. This is a healthier food choice than you will find on the highway by far. Note: This is a worthy stop even if you are a foodie as this is Urban Southern cooking... More

Great place to spend a evening with family or friends. We start with a beverage at the roof-top bar. Not a lot of great scenery, but somehow being up there makes a difference. We go back to the ground floor and always have a great time. Suggest you have a reservation on Friday or Saturday nights. The service by the... More
