The best thing about A-J's is the location. Sitting on the deck looking out on the water watching for porpoises is why I love A-J's. And you can show up looking less than your best after a long hot walk on the beach. The table service is usually very good. The bartenders seem to be not too excited to be... More

The food was lacking originality and taste and despite the fabulous location we left disappointed with the experience. The reputation exceeds the meal.

We happened across it while walking around the neighborhood. Stopped in for a Bloody Mary at the bar (way too hot for outside!). Great friendly service. Perfect beach bar attitude. We came back a day or so later for quick lunch. Had (another!) Bloody Mary and the specialty crab soup and gumbo. Both were great. I can see where parking... More

Sit outside sipping a cold beer, eating good food, and let your cares drift away over the water. A must when we go to Tybee Island. Off the beaten path but that is why you have GPS.

We arrived at AJ's on an overcast day. The greeter told us that if we sat outside and it rained, we not get seating inside. We decided to dine outside anyway and didn't see a drop of rain. Ann was our waitress and took great care of our food and drink orders. My wife and I had the mahi-mahi po'boy... More

We visit Tybee at least once a year. We tried to get in to AJ's last year but the parking and line made us think twice. This year we visited a little later and being mid-week there was no wait. Our server was fantastic. She joked with my husband and was on the spot for drinks. She asked if we... More

I had the shrimp and grits appetizer...it was wonderful. The fried oysters and scallops that followed were even better. The best meal I had on Tybee! We did have to wait for a table ..it was Saturday night. I had a couple of beers and watched the sunset...No problem!

We've only been here one time and that one time wasn't the best. The restaurant was having a HUGE party that took up most of the restaurant. The waitress that was assigned to us didn't act like she wanted to wait on us/take our order. We ordered an appetizer of buffalo shrimp which was delicious but ended up leaving after... More

Don't know what all the fuss is about this place. We ate at the bar, buffalo shrimp. Ok, just ok. Ambiance was almost non-existent. Gluten free chocolate cake and key lime pie were good but nothing we hadn't had before. If we had waited to get a table we probably would've been totally and completely dissatisfied. Go to Coco's instead.

I'm not one to really complain. This is the first review I have ever written. I remember when AJ's opened. I used to Love to go as often as I could. Eating my,,,, Food last night I told myself I would never again walk through AJ's doors. HORRIBLE service and the food has gone to the point of almost nasty.... More
