Yes, it's BYOB, but look at it this way, you're not paying some ridiculous price for a beer. Yes, it's slow, but it's a hole in the wall on the beach, and the service is right in line with that. They are very friendly and the food is good. Have some chicken wings and fries. When you're just looking for... more

The first thing that jumped out at us was the fact that there was no alcohol served whatsoever. I can honestly say that it was the first BYOB restaurant that I have stepped foot in. I am not sure if they had their liquor license revoked or what (not sure about that, but it's my opinion). The waiter took our... more

This is a great beachfront dive restaurant. Cheap food, open air dining, and great drinks (in the past). Today, July 3, 2009, it was discovered they have lost or "forgot to renew" their liquor license. They do allow BYOB, which will save some money, but it's can be a hassle if you don't plan ahead. Hope they get it back... more

I've been visiting Tybee for years and have enjoyed the North Beach Grill. I went this weekend for the first time in a year. Don't know what's happened, but they lost their liquor license and the whole place was a mess. Took forever to get our food - one table just gave up and left. There didn't seem to be... more

A crew of seven ventured to the North Beach Grill at the recommendation of "a native" one night. Looking forward to some good local fare, we headed out. We started out sitting outside, and had a very friendly waiter taking care of us. We ordered drinks and had the very (emphasis on very) limited menu handed to us. Before we... more

I spent a few hours in Tybee just to check things out. I drove around the very busy and congested South Beach and became frustrated with the amount of people and lack of parking. I drove over to North Beach and came across this place. I was concerned at first because the signs said: - No Credit Cards - Cash... more

I can't believe we would have missed this experience if we hadn't been curious about the beach. We were riding our bikes to the lighthouse and wanted to see the beach- when we found this curious little 'shack' called the North Beach Grill. The place was in such a 'casual' state that we didn't even know if it was open.... more

Just the best beach restaurant you could find. Try the 1/2 pound of boiled shrimp - I want some now just thinking about it. Sides are great, people are very friendly. Never had something we didnt like. more

I am a Tybee local and this is by far the coolest place to eat on the island. This fall they had some issues that by spring will be fixed. The food and the atmosphere make you feel like you are on a Caribbean Island. Food choices range from burgers and fries to tuna steaks and specials that are too... more

Dropped by after touring the Fort and the Tybee Light. If you take those tours, leave your car in-place and walk over to avoid charges for parking (if you elect not to, parking is plentiful, metered, and not too expensive, and credit cards are accepted if you're short on coin). Seating is comfortable inside or out (we were outside). The... more
