Been there many times. Its where are the tourists like to go. The food is boiled in giant pots for hours and hours. So ya never know if it will all come out overcooked or not. I think its very expensive for the quality of food you get and small portions. On the plus side the view outside from the... More

We stopped at Gerald's on our way back to Savannah because this place reminded us of our Jamaican trip. The "if you are in a hurry you might be in the wrong place" sign confirmed what we thought! We took peel-and-eat shrimps and a pulled pork bun and were not disappointed. Simple and fresh ingredients made us quite happy and... More

We saw this as we passed by on the way to the Tybee lighthouse. The aroma and signage drew us in as we returned for lunch. It is an open barebones outdoor seating. We sat at a picnic table. The drink collection is not big cans of coke, diet coke, sprite and sweet tea. My son had the shrimp basket.... More

Fried shrimp is great. Coleslaw appears to be homemade. Cold beer. Cool outdoor pavilion atmosphere. Seems to be family friendly.

We're from the north and there are lots of places that try hard to emulate a funky BBQ joint, but Gerald's has it down! Not only is the atmosphere authentic, the food is excellent! I had the pork and shrimp dinner and my wife had the pulled pork sandwich. We also had a side of hush puppies. The BBQ was... More

I eat fried shrimp at most seafood restaurants. This was some of the best I've had anywhere. It was very lightly breaded. It comes with two sides and hushpuppies. I had the plain hush puppies and they were okay. They also offer a a jalapeño version but I didn't try those. The french fries were really good - didn't taste... More

We have never had better BBQ. Everything from the quirky shack, awesome server, sweet tea and everything we ordered (pulled pork, shrimp, ribs, wings, baked beans and coleslaw) gets 5 stars 👍👍👏👏

Our family went there a couple of weeks ago and had a great time. It was a little after lunch when we got there; a few other groups were there and a couple of fishermen at the bar. One waitress was assigned to everyone and she did a good job. Service was friendly; food came out without a big wait... More
