Come as you are, bring the family...eat, drink and be merry. Gerald’s Pig and Shrimp is a casual outdoor dining establishment, backdropped with towering shade trees and located across the road from Tybee Island’s sprawling salt-water marshes. The brick patio is housed in an open air structure, a 14’ high pole barn fabricated with reclaimed materials, beautifully landscaped and decked out with an array of eclectic eye-candy. We specialize in slow-smoked meats pork, ribs and brisket, as well, fresh, Wild Georgia shrimp, fried, boiled or sauteed. All our sauces and marinades are made in house. We use fresh herbs from our side garden. We offer daily specials, dinners, sandwiches, appetizers and local beer, wine and sangria. We’re pet friendly as long as they’re friendly and on a leash and have free parking on property. We strive to ensure our guests’ experience is top-notch by providing fresh, tasty, high quality fare at a reasonable price, in a relaxed atmosphere with exceptional customer service.Planning an event? We also cater, offering choices of Southern Style Comfort Food, Bar-B-Que, Whole Pig-Roast, Oyster Roasts, Low Country Boil, site location, and entertainment.

Good, Down-to-Earth Seafood/BBQ Shack

The first restaurant we patronized on Tybee Island, and also the last as we left! We enjoyed the low country boil (a regional dish of boiled shrimp, sausage, potatoes and corn sprinkled with dry spices) and fried oysters. Simple, honest preparation; the seafood was local, fresh, and cooked just... read more

Went here with the family during a rainstorm. There is very limited seating but they wiped off a couple tables and we were seated right away. Our waitress was very nice but didn't know their very limited menu very well at all, hopefully she was just new and in fairness she was the only waitress in the place. The food... More

Our family of 12 was on vacation in Tybee Island and found this gem while driving to the beach. Great ribs, great shrimp, great outdoor, casual ambiance. Our favorite part was meeting and chatting with the owner, Gerald, who took great care of us with his southern hospitality. My nephew even took his first steps during dinner! This place is... More

Very laid back funky place in a pole barn type construction beside US 80 . Open air with free philosophy posted throughout. Went with the shrimp po boy that comes with a very nice non-sweet slaw. Simple by very good. Wanted to go back but ran out of time. Friendly efficient wait staff. Only open limited days of the week.

If you want fancy this is not the place. If you want a laid back, casual place with a cool beach vibe this is it. We stopped in for lunch and all four of us opted for Po Boys. The shrimp and oysters were fresh and cooked perfectly. The homemade coleslaw was tangy and tasty. Only complaint was the rolls... More

We had the pulled pork sandwich and the brisket sandwich for lunch. Both were very good. We love quirky Gerald! This place isn't just about the food, but don't get me wrong it's excellent. It's about the whole experience.

We drove by this open air restaurant everyday during our week long stay in Tybee. We finally made it on our last night. It was awesome. We started with the shrimp appetizer- While it was small(6) for the price, the perfection of the shrimp made up for it. I wished at that point I had ordered that as my meal.... More

We booked Gerald's for a private wedding rehearsal dinner - Low Country Boil. Shrimp were spectacular along will all the other fixings. Service was excellent. We received non-stop compliments from our guests about how great the venue was and the food was simply delicious. If you are on Tybee and don't stop in, you are missing a true treasure.

This "shack" is a great, comfortable place to eat lunch or supper on Tybee. Fresh shrimp poboy is amazing!! The fresh veggie sides are amazing as well. When we were there there was only one server and a full house so she was stressed and service could've been better but she was doing her best. The food made up for... More
