If you like BBQ- Try it!

It's obvious this place has been around awhile... we stopped in on a whim when in the area for business. The decor is definitely reminiscent of grandma's house- worn down formica tables, lots of wood, and sweet and low or sugar are the only sweetener choices. But, like grandma's house, the food... read more

I ate at the OldHickory House in Buckhead growing up in the '60s. To me it was the classic BBQ joint. Recently traveled to Atlanta and wanted the Old Hickory House experience. I was not disappointed. Had the chopped beef and fries. Also tried the Brunswick stew. Everything was excellent. I had forgotten how good their BBQ sauce is.

Needs a facelift inside-badly. Booths, tables, bathrooms worn out. BBQ worth the trip. Little else T breakfast or lunch worth more than 2 stars

Old Hickory House has been around a long time. I've heard great things about it. I was extremely disappointed at my first and last visit. The dining room was not clean. I was very uncomfortable because of the dust and sticky seat and table. The lady who served us was very nice but got our order all wrong. The food... More

Most folks don't think that BBQ goes well for breakfast. Well, The Old Hickory House proves them wrong. Biscuits like your grandma used to make and BBQ that is just finger lickin good. Definitely try to pulled pork omelot with extra sauce.

Nothing like the smell of BBQ hitting you at the front door. Good old fashioned country breakfast served by friendly folk. Been coming here 15 years and never disappointed.

Since I love the sweet, tomato-based barbecue sauce this is my all-time favorite stop for a ribs, slaw, Brunswick stew meal. There is an occasional visit when the ribs are tough. ..or maybe overcooked, but they are usually a finger-licking, delicious treat. Sliced pork and barbecued chicken are reliable alternatives. The sauce is the key to the great taste. Side... More

You can't beat OHH for classic breakfasts. If you order the pancakes, keep in mind that they are the size of the plate and even one may be enough. Service is southern diner style. Homey and familiar. Not a lot of glitter going on.

My husband and I used to have lunch at Hickory House frequently when we had our offices nearby. Since selling our business we only have lunch there on occasion. Today we were in the area at noon and went in for lunch .I always order the pork BBQ sandwich, slaw and stew, it never dissappoints. The service is consistently good... More

The food is always fast and good. The walls have stories to tell so they aren't the cleanest. Everyone is friendly and the service is great. The country "link" sausage with eggs is my favorite. The biscuits are HUGE!
