The Basket Bakery originally began as a wholesale bakery with a small additional luncheon room, operated by the Frieses, a German couple. As the bakery’s customers grew, so did the popularity of Hilde's extraordinary cooking. Now in its third location, The Village Corner German Restaurant includes a traditional style German tavern, a European bakery and a cafe style dining room that serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. A traditional German menu contains potato pancakes, Black Forest ham and Weiner Schnitzel among other selections. Our artistic and decorative bakery cakes are worthy of any special occasion. In addition The Village Corner boasts a wonderful banquet room that facilitates weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners, parties and much more.

stopped in for dinner about 5:30 after long day of antiquing in Atlanta with husband. not been here in forever- maybe 12 years or more. the wait staff as well as hostess were dressed in personal street clothes and looked like from yard sale. one had jeans and tennis shoes. most all were in black but not classy by any... Great restaurant. You have to try the giant pretzel on the appetizer menu. The weinersnitzel was great as well. Nice atmosphere give the restaurant a European feel.

A charming stop for a wonderful meal. A bakery, beer garden, dining room, bar or patio, the seating is cozy and the serving team friendly. We started with a huge soft pretzel with mustard and beer cheese sauces to dip. My zitronen schnitzel was superb and the spatzel just as I remembered. My husband's knockwurst and german burger were flavorful... More

Good german food. Great home brewed beer. Low cost. Wonderful atmosphere. Actually found this place by accident. We were looking for the stone mountain road to visit. Stopped in to ask for directions. Saw the brewery and said, "let's have lunch". This place should be included in the rock city brochure.

We stopped here for lunch on the way to Stone Mountain. Service was great, the food was wonderful, and there was a lot of it. I recommend this place, and will be back.

The beer selection is very good with trusted stand-by's and good local brews. The giant pretzels are giant and very good. The rest of the food was pretty typical. They did have vegetarian options for me, though limited as may be expected. I would definitely go back if in the area again.

We stopped in for dinner. The restaurant is quaint in the village. Our server was helpful and polite. The food came out quickly and was very good (pork cutlet, German potato salad, Frickadellen hamburger, bratwurst and roasted potatoes). The beer choices on tap were great. We had Kolsch, Bitburger and a server recommend the dark local ale called Doppelbock, which... More

It's expensive but worth it. Home brew Döbbel Bock and Hefeweizen beer. Most is very ethic food and one of my favorite Georgia German Restaurants. Serves is good. Recommend sitting in tavern side. Ich komme wieder, um Bier zu trinken und zu essen!

I have eaten at many German restaurants. This one is pretty good not great but pretty good. There are a wide variety of offerings of German fare and, strangely, French dishes. The home brewed beers are better than average and the Grapefruit wheat beer I had was fantastic. That said, this is an expensive place where the nickel and dime... More
