Description: The Basket Bakery originally began as a wholesale bakery with a small additional luncheon room, operated by the Frieses, a German couple. As the bakery’s customers grew, so did the popularity of Hilde's extraordinary cooking. Now in its third location, The Village Corner German Restaurant includes a traditional style German tavern, a European bakery and a cafe style dining room that serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. A traditional German menu contains potato pancakes, Black Forest ham and Weiner Schnitzel among other selections. Our artistic and decorative bakery cakes are worthy of any special occasion. In addition The Village Corner boasts a wonderful banquet room that facilitates weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners, parties and much more.

Good German Food, but one can get other choices. Service is excellent, knowledgeable and friendly. Food; Salads are wonderful (Try Waldroff.), Quiche, Ruebens and Sausage plates are excellent. Always try Deserts (this is a bakery ) they are wonderful. Beer and Wine selections is good. Great German Beers. Always a nice retreat when visiting Stone Mountain Park.

We stopped by after the Yellow Daisy Festival. The quiche was fine, but the waldroff salad and Ruben were awesome. Nice beer selection. The service was good especially considering it was very busy. Will definitely be going back.

If you like German food, then this is the place for you. It's maninly Bavarian in nature, but it is very good. I also found a new breakfast meat. Jaegersnitzel is great anytime of day

Food here reminds me of my childhood -- very German grandparents. We've eaten here several times when we're in the Stone Mountain area. Always good food, but save room for the desserts -- they're worth the trip. Potato salad has a little too much onion and vinegar for my taste; but I always seem to eat most of it. Veal... More

Ate lunch while doing the Stone Mountain thing. Great food. Dont expect a full German menu experience for lunch, as its not a vast menu, but the Beer is great, and the Service is spectacular. Super friendly staff, overall a great experience. . (Wish I could remember our waitress name to give her big Kudos)

I and my husband ran into the Village Corner accidentally on the way to the Stone Mt Park. We had lunch there. The food and service were good. We went back for dinner after visiting the Park. We enjoyed the food and will come back again.

We were very disappointed. The service was not good. I saw a couple getting their bread when they were paying their check. It was not crowded but they sat us in a very crowded spot. We were by a window that overlooked a dead plant on the deck (you would never see that in Germany). The food was ok. We... More

Went there with wife and 2 kids for lunch. Ordered 3 lunches between us. Food came fast and was o.k. Nothing spectacular but o.k. I am German and know what good German food is like. Apfelstrudel was also o.k. When the bill came there was a sharing charge of $2 on it. Don't remember seeing that on the menu. Now... More

A great bar, good reuben sandwich and a great selection of beers and it's not far from the hotels inside Stone Mountain Park. Kind of funky

We've enjoyed the Village Corner since its early days as the Basket Bakery. It is a small and personable family-owned place with a solid reputation. Both the menu and the atmosphere seem to improve with each successive visit, and we have never been disappointed. Tonight's visit was no exception, and we had the added benefit of watching one of the... More
