Description: The Basket Bakery originally began as a wholesale bakery with a small additional luncheon room, operated by the Frieses, a German couple. As the bakery’s customers grew, so did the popularity of Hilde's extraordinary cooking. Now in its third location, The Village Corner German Restaurant includes a traditional style German tavern, a European bakery and a cafe style dining room that serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. A traditional German menu contains potato pancakes, Black Forest ham and Weiner Schnitzel among other selections. Our artistic and decorative bakery cakes are worthy of any special occasion. In addition The Village Corner boasts a wonderful banquet room that facilitates weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners, parties and much more.

LOVE THIS PLACE. food is delicious and authentic, as the german family lives above (i believe). If we could afford it, we would be there once a week. i am a schnitzel lover (partial to zitronen but the jaegerschnitzel is just as good), their spaetzel is yummy along with the red cabbage. you gotta have the raclett with pickles. simply... One of our friends came back in town and we organized a reservation for a large group of about 30 people to have lunch here. When we arrived the lunch was very organized with great service. The section we had was very spacious and the waitress kindly let us have separate checks, which is no small feat with a group... More

On a recent family trip between Christmas and New Years, we selected this restaurant to visit again. Our first experience with it years ago had been wonderful and this stop was also positive and memorable. Our only group complaint was that our stomachs were too small and that there was too much food. (Certainly a first-world problem.) With seven people... More

We have traveled a lot, but didn't see many German restaurants in the southern US, so this was a welcome surprise. The food was good, they accomodated a to go order. The prices were a little high, but you could expect that at such a niche restaurant.

Some of the best German food I've had outside of Germany. I really enjoy the zitronenschnitzel and some of the sausages.

We went here as my aunt likes it and my wife and I enjoy German food. They now have their own beer--and it was tasty (I had a Dopplebock). The food was pretty solid--I had sauerbraten and my wife had cheese spatzle, which she loves. I did not notice any server problems--we were not in a hurry. Bathrooms were clean... More

Was looking for something different while driving through Georgia. German food fit the bill this evening. The food was delicious, the decor was fun, and the desserts were great!

I love German food so finding this close to Stone Mountain (where we were vacationing) was exciting. The menu is pretty traditional and they had a couple German beers that looked interesting. After that.... things went downhill. The servers were mediocre and barely spoke to us, just threw food our way and hustled along. The food was edible, but nothing... More
