The Basket Bakery originally began as a wholesale bakery with a small additional luncheon room, operated by the Frieses, a German couple. As the bakery’s customers grew, so did the popularity of Hilde's extraordinary cooking. Now in its third location, The Village Corner German Restaurant includes a traditional style German tavern, a European bakery and a cafe style dining room that serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. A traditional German menu contains potato pancakes, Black Forest ham and Weiner Schnitzel among other selections. Our artistic and decorative bakery cakes are worthy of any special occasion. In addition The Village Corner boasts a wonderful banquet room that facilitates weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners, parties and much more.

Nice spot close to Stone Mountain park.

Good food, good service, nice location. We were staying at Stone Mountain and wanted an alternative outside the park for dinner. We also like German food. The night we went they were suffering from a water main break (not their fault - in the area) and they managed really well considering. Despite... read more

This was the last place we hit up on our vacation after reading reviews for it on TripAdvisor. We found the staff to be charming and helpful with suggestions for things to try. I had some of their cider that they brew on site- WOW, it was AMAZING! My boyfriend also enjoyed his brew and food as well. Save room... More

(Short version: Great food, authentic German menu items, great service, very clean and delightful atmosphere.) We decided to stop here for a late lunch passing through Stone Mountain. When we arrived there was plenty of available parking right in front, I think we stopped in between their lunch and dinner rush as there weren't packed . Walking through the front... More

The food was really good, and the staff was really hustling to make sure everyone was taken care of. The huge soft pretzel was very tasty with the Bavarian mustard and bier cheese, and the kraut was really good. The kids enjoyed the fresh baked desserts on the way out.

My family and I visited for dinner on August 5 after visiting stone mountain park and had a great time. The soft pretzel appetizer was the size of the plate. The food was delicious. I also picked up some banana bread from the bakery on the way out and it was also tasty. I only wish they would have played... More

I enjoy dropping in from time to time to have a little taste of Germany. It's not the greatest place I've ever eaten but it does have some good food. If you don't go expecting too much you won't be disappointed. It's good enough that I do go back.

Had dinner before a show at the ART Station. Despite having lived near here several years ago, we had never dined at Village Corner. Read reviews and decided to try it, and thoroughly enjoyed it. This place serves microbrews from next door, so the beer was good. The menu features authentic German dishes. I had the Sauerbraten, and my wife... More

Great restaurant. You have to try the giant pretzel on the appetizer menu. The weinersnitzel was great as well. Nice atmosphere give the restaurant a European feel.

A charming stop for a wonderful meal. A bakery, beer garden, dining room, bar or patio, the seating is cozy and the serving team friendly. We started with a huge soft pretzel with mustard and beer cheese sauces to dip. My zitronen schnitzel was superb and the spatzel just as I remembered. My husband's knockwurst and german burger were flavorful... More
