The Basket Bakery originally began as a wholesale bakery with a small additional luncheon room, operated by the Frieses, a German couple. As the bakery’s customers grew, so did the popularity of Hilde's extraordinary cooking. Now in its third location, The Village Corner German Restaurant includes a traditional style German tavern, a European bakery and a cafe style dining room that serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. A traditional German menu contains potato pancakes, Black Forest ham and Weiner Schnitzel among other selections. Our artistic and decorative bakery cakes are worthy of any special occasion. In addition The Village Corner boasts a wonderful banquet room that facilitates weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners, parties and much more.

Beer and pretzels!

The beer selection is very good with trusted stand-by's and good local brews. The giant pretzels are giant and very good. The rest of the food was pretty typical. They did have vegetarian options for me, though limited as may be expected. I would definitely go back if in the area again.

We stopped in for dinner. The restaurant is quaint in the village. Our server was helpful and polite. The food came out quickly and was very good (pork cutlet, German potato salad, Frickadellen hamburger, bratwurst and roasted potatoes). The beer choices on tap were great. We had Kolsch, Bitburger and a server recommend the dark local ale called Doppelbock, which... More

It's expensive but worth it. Home brew Döbbel Bock and Hefeweizen beer. Most is very ethic food and one of my favorite Georgia German Restaurants. Serves is good. Recommend sitting in tavern side. Ich komme wieder, um Bier zu trinken und zu essen!

I have eaten at many German restaurants. This one is pretty good not great but pretty good. There are a wide variety of offerings of German fare and, strangely, French dishes. The home brewed beers are better than average and the Grapefruit wheat beer I had was fantastic. That said, this is an expensive place where the nickel and dime... More

We were first time visitors to Stone Mountain. We had the value meal tickets in the park. The pizza was under cooked dough with very sparse toppings. We threw it out.So now we are very hungry and hoping to find a good place to eat.We found this restaurant and had dinner there. The food was excellent and plentiful. Our waitress was attentive and we sat... We drive from Florida to eat at the Village Corner always on our trip to Stone Mountain. The best German food and the price is just right.

After a full day in the park we stopped in for a dinner and truly enjoyed the visit, the service the food and the entire experience. Take the family and take your time....worth the time and effort to be there.

Easy to miss, if one is not familiar with the five point intersection. However, the fare that is served deems it worthwhile to be on the lookout for the location. The tables dressed with linen is a nice touch that adds to a higher quality establishment. This combination restaurant - bakery can actually be fun, if one is of a... More

We were seated quickly but the service was very slow. Took eight minutes for the waitress to acknowledge us. Paid a good price for food that was not very good. My husband thought it odd they were playing the "blues" in a German restaurant. We purchased cookied at the bakery and they were very good. Would not recommend this restaurant.

I am no expert in German food, but I remember fondly a German restaurant I used to visit in Biloxi, Mississippi. I enjoyed everything I had there, so I was excited to see this spot. It seemed to be a slow night, and I was there after the usual dinner hour, so I was seated at a table in the... More
