The Basket Bakery originally began as a wholesale bakery with a small additional luncheon room, operated by the Frieses, a German couple. As the bakery’s customers grew, so did the popularity of Hilde's extraordinary cooking. Now in its third location, The Village Corner German Restaurant includes a traditional style German tavern, a European bakery and a cafe style dining room that serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. A traditional German menu contains potato pancakes, Black Forest ham and Weiner Schnitzel among other selections. Our artistic and decorative bakery cakes are worthy of any special occasion. In addition The Village Corner boasts a wonderful banquet room that facilitates weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners, parties and much more.

My daughter and I had some banking to do this afternoon but as son ash she picked me up we both realized we were HUNGRY. Stopped at the Village Corner because it was right there around the corner. The sunshine we had earlier today and disappeared and were dealing with a cloudy dreary day. Well, time for Tomato Basil Soup... More

Everytime I'm in the area I try and eat there!! Wonderful, authentic German food and bakery!! The atmosphere is relaxed and outdoor seating when weather permits. I highly recommend taking the time to enjoy their food or at least stop by for some of the in house bakery goods!! I've taken friends, eaten alone and had business lunches and dinner... More

My family loved this place. Especially the giant soft pretzel. All the dishes we ordered were very tasty and good German food. And what would German food be without good beer to pair it with? So yes there were some good brews as well. Great stop right outside the park.

This was totally unexpected. German cuisine does not rank high on the list of international cuisines. I cannot remember having eaten at a German restaurant outside of Germany, Switzerland or Austria before, so it was a complete surprise to find a quality German restaurant in Stone Mountain village. Inside the restaurant is reminiscent of many Bavarian Inns and in many... More

When we walked into this restaurant, we were immediately immersed in a German atmosphere! We absolutely LOVED the pretzel that we ordered before our food! Then came the meal, our meal was INCREDIBLE!! Everything that we ordered was great tasting and great quality. Our dessert was also incredible! Our group shared sugar cookies, apple cake, and a strawberry tart. Also,... More

My family (2 adults and 3 kids) stopped here on Valentine's Day. I had read the reviews and wanted something different for lunch. We ordered a giant pretzel to start. We loved the house mustard. My husband had the sausage plate. It came with 2 sausages (he picked bratwurst and knockwurst), I had the Jaeger schnitzel (came with red cabbage... More

The Village Corner is right outside of Stone Mountain. It looked busy when I drove by on my way in to the park and it look busy when I left, so I decided to check it out. I'm glad that I did! I had the jaeger schnitzel, which was delicious, and one of their own, locally brewed beers (from Stone... More

LOVE THIS PLACE. food is delicious and authentic, as the german family lives above (i believe). If we could afford it, we would be there once a week. i am a schnitzel lover (partial to zitronen but the jaegerschnitzel is just as good), their spaetzel is yummy along with the red cabbage. you gotta have the raclett with pickles. simply... One of our friends came back in town and we organized a reservation for a large group of about 30 people to have lunch here. When we arrived the lunch was very organized with great service. The section we had was very spacious and the waitress kindly let us have separate checks, which is no small feat with a group... More
