Nice meal

Was in town for business and wanted to eat downtown. This restaurant was open so I ate here. Service was excellent. Wine was really bad so I went with bourbon. Food was very good. A bit pricy for Statesboro residents, but a great place for a fancy date, anniversary or any special occasion.

From the staff to the food, I cannot think of a bad thing to say. The chef staff know their business and do it well. I have never been disappointed here.

My experience at this restaurant has always been exceptional when it comes to the service and atmosphere. The food is usually good, but I never recommend the steak! The music, lighting, decor, etc. are all fantastic. The servers are always nice and make sure your glass is never empty. This past week I ordered the mixed grill plate which has... More

The service is very good. NO flexibility in the menu. NO substitutions allowed. For the price ($29.00 for a Ribeye) I was expecting higher quality of meat.

I can't really say anything "negative" about Chops since I only ate there once, but for what the food costs, I would have expected much more. I was someone's guest, and so they paid the freight for it, which was good. The calamari appetizer was nothing special (frankly, you'd probably get just as good from Red Lobster). My entree, an... My steak was mediocre at best. My potatoes were cold. Extremely long wait following the order. Waiter was pleasant, but not very attentive.

I have eaten at Chops on at least a half dozen occasions. The food has ranged from near exceptional to barely edible. The service is the same. One time attentive and engaging the next time befuddled and indifferent. There is the hope of a good restaurant here but the attention to detail and the inconsistency in food and service are... Ate hear with my family and had one of the best sirloins I have eaten in Statesboro. Definitely one of the better restaurants in town. They also make a mean dirty martini! Give it a try!

Overall not a bad place. I've had better food as far as quality and taste but for small town it's pretty standard.
