When they say "family style" they mean it! Two meats on a platter and at least 6 kinds of vegetables (if you consider mac and cheese a vegetable) served in bowls, plus a basket of biscuits, and you have the makings of an enjoyable meal. We had fried chicken and roast beef, and both were delicious. There were 3 of... More

We went for a family dinner. Everyone was touting Beaver House as a great down home Southern restaurant. Yes, it is that but I was disappointed in the food quality. The fried chicken is very good. The pork good. The mashed potatoes are awful. The white rice okay. The steamed cabbage good. The mac and cheese squares good but cold.... More

I had my rehearsal dinner at the Beaver House and I think it turned out great. The staff and food were both great.

Fried chicken, Southern style vegetables, traditional desserts, all in a turn-of-the-century mansion. We had our English Department senior dinner here last year, and everyone had a fantastic time.

The food is served B&B-style, with a variety of meats and vegetables brought to every table. The downside to this restaurant is some of the tables are an odd size/shape, and if you have a family event here, do not think for one moment you are entitled to one of the rooms in their entirety. If the smallest table in... More

I had a really nice time visiting there for Thanksgiving day. The service was nice, even though the wait was a little lengthy. The place looks very nice and historic. The atmosphere was very mellow and low key. The price was modest for the occasion. I would like to dine here again.

Food is served family style brought to the table in large bowls/platters for you and your guest to share/pass around. Food was all very good - southern style. Housed in a beautiful old victorian home

Having gone to school at Georgia Southern, this is always a place we eat when we go back. No matter whether you go on Sunday or a Friday night, there is always fried chicken and all the sides. You're in a college town, so you can't expect the same service you would at a 5 Star Restaurant. But with that... More

Tried a few times, food okay but service horrible. Almost had sweet tea spilled on me without so much as an "excuse me" or "sorry". Food was expensive especially if you don't eat a lot of heavy fried foods. Plus, heard many personal friends have gotten sick and from a server there that they reuse the old food over and... More
