You can sit outside; wobbly small tables, river view hampered by high wire fence, but not terrible. Or sit inside café style. Adequate selection of dishes, drinks; rather a captive market here for the museum visitors. Roast beef dinner very poor; 2 slices of average beef; Yorkshire pudding inedible (burnt and rubbery, and far too big). Quite slow service, but... More

We visited the motor museum first and the staff were friendly and my husband and 10 year old daughter thoroughly enjoyed. We went to the ambio cafe and ordered food which we felt you couldn't really mess up! However the beef burger was like rubber and the chips tasted like they had been cooked in fat that was well best... More

Don't buy a sandwich from here if you like meat the coronation chicken sandwich is suitable for vegetarians as it does not contain chicken only sultans inferior mayonnaise and a sniff of the curry pot! Also they don't take card under £5 - on the whole needs work and better bread which is altogether bad!

Brilliant Sunday lunch at a very reasonable price. Both pork and beef options were amazing and had plenty of veg. Great service from all staff who went out of their way to make us welcome.

Firstly I would like to say how much my partner and myself enjoyed our food on our visit to your cafe on our visit to the Lake District last Wednesday, the standard of food was exceptional. Unfortunately our morning was ruined due to the manner of one member of staff (blonde lady) who spoke in such a rude manner to... More

Have been here many times over the years and the food is always good and reasonably priced. The seats outside by the river on a warm day are a lovely place to sit and eat. Although we did have a few wasps after the jam last time! It's a good place to go with family and friends and it has... More

Dropped in at lunch time after visiting the museum. A nice setting, service was good, with a reasonable variety on the menu. I had the grilled chicken sandwich, whilst the quality was excellent I felt it was a little overpriced for what it was. £6.95. Probably a reflection of this being a popular tourist area.

I've come here so often I take it for granted that I am going to have a good meal. The soups are always delicious and at £3.95, including fresh bread, they are excellent value. Sandwiches are also made with fresh bread and the meals are generous portions. There is always a good selection of cakes and when you combine this... More
