Visited Blackwater last night and the food couldn't have been more amazing! Blackened flounder was the fresh catch. Out of this world! The vegetable of the day was fried okra, which was also delicious. If I had a complaint, it would be the price for desserts. Just not quite worth what they're charging, but they were homemade, which you can't... More

We like to try places recommended by Guy Fieri on The Food Network. We started with his recommended appetizer Boudin Fritters. This round crisp fritter was filled with ground pork and rice perfectly seasoned and served with a delicious sauce. For an entree we again took Guy 's recommended dish, Grouper Daufuskie. It was nicely breaded served over caramelized onions... More

Went on a Sunday as they opened the doors. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food served at just the right pace. Had the Low Country Boil ant the Tybee Shrimp. Excellent on both accounts. We would go again for sure.

The Blackwater Grill was an excellent dinner choice by my wife and I on a cool early March 2014 Saturday night. We called for wait time for a walk-in at about 6:30 and expected to hear something on the order of 30 minutes, but were offered immediate seating - in fact, they held the table while we hoofed it over... I love Shrimp and Grits and last year when my parents visited from NJ, my Dad decided it was time for him to try some too. We decided to go to Blackwater for dinner. Dad was even more thrilled to find out they have Red Beans and Rice, a dish he has been dying to try for many years. The... More

We visit family in Georgia once or twice a year at Jekyll, St. Mary's, and Brunswick. We always make time for a stop at Blackwater. The Blackwater 'sundae' is a must-try appetizer (sounds strange, but go ahead and order one-you won't be sorry!) the shrimp and grits outstanding, and the filet mignon with a nightly preparation rivals that of Ruth's... My wife and I were at the restaurant for our 35th wedding anniversary. Service was very nice. We had been to the Golden Isles many times. My wife's crab cakes were the best she's had in the region. My shrimp were delicious.
