We had not been to St. Simons Island for some 15 years or more. We had eaten at the Crab Trap several times before. Either I am getting old or the food was not as good as I remembered. OK fried oysters. Battered dipped fries were ok. Cole slaw was poor. Hush puppies were fine but may well have been... More

Started off getting sat at a really bad cramped table. Our small and very overpriced drinks arrived quickly. We ordered a dozen oysters...they were not fresh, extremely small. Then came the main dishes. I ordered soft shell crabs. I got obviously frozen, small, and just sad looking crabs. I got a huge pile of fries...battered in tempura batter, as were... More

The Crab Trap has been around for many years and we just visited it after an absence of over 20 years. It hasn't lost a thing! The ambiance is great, the staff attentive and very friendly, and the food is wonderful! If you like soft shell crab--this is the place to go! Very reasonably priced too.

A family night on a Friday - 4 adults and 2 kids and very good meals all around. Sure they are slightly more expensive than some competitors but you truly get what you pay for. It is a real treat. Te fried brussel sprouts with the baked snapper special were delicious. Good to see a classic vegetable reinvented. The portions... More

My wife and I came here on our Honeymoon 2 years ago and it's the same delicious food as then. Highly recommend the seafood casserole. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Be sure and arrive as close to 5 as you can. A trip to St Simons Island isn't complete without Crab Trap.

Honestly. Are there any restaurants that specializes in FRESH seafood that has stood the taste of time and been in continuous operation since 1979? What a delight to introduce our next generation to great seafood dishes that can be broiled, blackened, grilled or fried. Even my two and one-half year old grandson PREFERS the right-from-the-dock broiled catch of the day!... More

This was my first visit to The Crab Trap and it was amazing! I had the crab soup which was some of the best I've ever had!! I also had the crab legs and they were awesome! The banana daquari was very good also! Will definitely visit again soon!

We ate the Mahi Mahi 2 nights in a row, it was that good! It is the fresh market fish of the day, and we even had a filet of Snapper added and it was SO delicious too. This restaurant is in walking distance of the King and Prince hotel. They have battered french fries, coleslaw and hush pupplies that... More
