Always yummy!

Been here several times but had never tried the Cajun grilled shrimp. Last week we went twice and I ordered this both times. It was so good. I do think that the food is a little overpriced for the amount that you get. It's a decent portion but 23$ just seems like a lot for it to me. But we... read more

I lived on SSI for a few years and go back to visit my Mom every year and I never miss a trip to this restaurant. It can be a tourist trap, but the locals like it too, as the menu includes a straightforward sampling of fresh seafood, grilled, blackened or fried. There are only two places in the world... More

Our fiirst night on St. Simon's Island included a visited to this terrific restaurant. We were a party of 27, (!) all relatives and I wondered how the service would be. Our group included several fidgety kids. Our server was stressed to the limit but came through for us at each stage of the meal. My husband and I shared... More

This place is always crowded it seems. Wait not too bad. Beer not overly cold from bar. Ordered fried shrimp - $19.95. Fries - hot and great. Shrimp luke warm. Hush puppies tasted like they had been sitting awhile. Don't get me wrong - 7:00 on Saturday night --- I get it. Service fabulous. Wish I had gotten her name.

The restaurant is warm and inviting. Our server was very efficient and our food arrived very quickly. The filet was cooked perfectly, the seafood casserole was very creamy and full of shrimp and crab. The shrimp and grits came on grit cakes and was fantastic. One of the specials was fish tacos which were very good but could have had... More

Everything was great, from the fish tacos to the fresh salad to the blackened grouper with fries and the terrific Hush Puppies. Southern food at its best, accompanied by the warm hospitality of Georgia. Did I mention the Key Lime pie? Take your cholesterol pills but don't miss any of this.

Nobody can argue with success. Crab Trap has been serving fresh seafood on Saint Simons Island for over 40 years. As one might expect, the motif is island nautical. The atmosphere is quite pleasant with upscale 'eat-in-the-ruff' scuppers built in to the tables to capture shells as you crack open your menu selection. We opted to dine at the bar... More

Visited on a recent Friday night after first stopping next door at Crabdaddys where there was a 45+ minute wait for a table. There was no wait at the Crab Trab. No complaints about the meal. Went with fried shrimp and blackened scallops. Was honestly surprised that portions weren't a little more generous, especially as the scallops tended to be... More

The Crab Trap has been a local favorite for 40 years. They have many things but their fried shrimp and batter-dipped fries are amazing. We drive down from Atlanta and can't wait to go there our first and last night on the island. The cole slaw is good and the roasted ear of corn is sweet and juicy. Casual atmosphere.... More
