One of the best places in Richmond Hill, GA

Took some visitors to Fish Tales for a relaxing dinner. As it was a Monday, I expected that it would be easy to get a table and the service would be faster than on busier nights. I was correct about the ease of getting a table. Service was the same as usual (a bit slow but not terrible). Food... read more

This is a great gathering spot on the Great Ogeechee River outside Richmond Hill, GA. The atmosphere is pure Jimmy Buffett. There is indoor seating with a bar. There is also an outdoor "Tiki Hut" with plenty of ventilation to keep those nasty sand gnats at bay. Well stocked bar and a nice selection of draft beers. The food is... More

Came here on a very busy 4th of July weekend night. There was almost an hour wait for a table at 8:00 pm, but we spied four places at the bar and quickly claimed them. It was hot sitting at the outside bar on this July evening, but the cooling fans they have, made it quite comfortable. Drinks were served... More

The fish sandwich is great. You can enjoy a pleasant meal on the water. Gnats can get to you if its not breezy. But it's worth it to sit outside they have a lot of fans to help.

This is what i call a fish fry shack with indoor and outdoor seating. They have an inside and outside bar. Right on the river, drive up in your boat. Basic seafood is the best here. Basically picnic table painted colorful. Only disappointment is that they do not really have local fresh fish. I you order a fish basket, they... More

This is my 3rd review; I live here. The grilled or blackened fish sandwich is dependable...flavor is always great, nice portion of fish on a sandwich. My friend loves the peel and eat local shrimp. The she crab stew is also rich and tasty. It was very busy the Tuesday night we were here and we grabbed one of two... More

Greeted and seated promptly. Server { Jenny } came by quickly and took our drink & appetizer order. When app was served our entrée order was taken and drinks refilled, App & entrees were cooked properly and tasted great. Jenny's service was outstanding. Would recommend you give it a try when in the area. Ask for Jenny to serve you.... More

The fish sandwich was alright, well seasoned and cooked well. The crab stew was good. The decor tries hard to be shabby and the presence of a portopotty as the obvious bathroom is weird (they do have a regular bathroom, but we had to ask where it was). Staff was a bit snooty and the bugs were unbelievable. Its not... More

Sorry you didn’t have a good time or get to see the entire restaurant. When sitting outside we do everything we can to control the gnats (bugs) and usually have sufficient fans to help control them. We have a total of 4 air conditioned restrooms. Since you sat outside in the Tiki Hut I know you were unable to see... More
