Not bad, not great

It was pretty average. Loved the fried mushroom appetizer. Had the New Orleans sampler which was good except for the jambalaya which tasted pretty bland and rice didn't seem fresh. Wife had a filet which was good but extremely greasy. Bread pudding for dessert was great!

Sunday evening we were leaving Pine Mountain and decided to eat before we started our long trip home. We stopped at Crickets Restaurant. I had Talapia and my husband had grilled shrimp. both were mouth watering and tasted so good. We decided that we would eat at Crickets every time we were in town. The staff was friendly and kept... My husband and I visited Crickets while on a short vacation in the area. I ordered a vegetable plate and got a huge serving of the veggies, which were all delicious! We also ordered the crepe for dessert and it was heavenly! They have recently updated the place and it's very attractive.

We were at the gardens for two nights and had a great meal the first night and was expecting a repeat the second night. Didn't happen. Cute little restaurant in a quaint spot with average staff...that's the best things I can say for this establishment. There were four of us and none were pleased with our food...it was a real... There was another couple that operated this restaurant years ago and it was excellent, but not any more. My wife's hamburger patty was at least a day old. It was hard and chewy. She could not eat it. My chicken, if it was chicken, was not good. We complained to the waitress when she brought the bill. She never responded.... More

The food was great and hot and the customer service was too notch! Very friendly staff. However, the spotlight was the lemonade! OMG! Normally I oh get lemonade from Chick fil A or Arby's but Cricket's has them beat! I hate they are over 25 miles away because I'd be there daily! They should sell it by the gallon AND... More

My $11.99 grilled chicken salad consisted of 1/2 C iceberg lettuce, a frozen boneless chicken breast (cooked, of course), 1 tomato wedge, 1/4 hard boiled egg, and 4 dried out slices of squash. I had to ask for crackers. My husband's $7.99 cheeseburger on a small bun was very bland and came only with potato chips. Oh- it did come... More

The wait staff was excellent, joking, having fun but keeping a keen eye on our huge group of customers (29). Plenty of entree choices with a staple of catfish. Their shrimp tasted as if it was fresh, though this is a long way from the coast. Really enjoyed it.

We've eaten here several times over the past 8 or 9 years. It was a slow weekend at Callaway so I guess that is why the restaurant didn't seem very busy for a Saturday night. I had a cup of gumbo for an appetizer. It was good, not great. I had jambalaya for dinner with fried okra as a side.... More
