A little touch of Germany in the deep south

The German food and atmosphere was well worth the visit. My family and I enjoyed the authentic German cuisine and the varied menu choices allowed enough options to accommodate all members of our party. The beverages were tasty and deserts were tart.

My sister ( from Pennsylvania) and I have visited Callaway's Needlearts program every year for 13 years. We found this little gem several years ago and it is our favorite spot in Pine Mountain. The food is always delicious and the portions large. We shared the steak this year and still could have taken some home had we been local.... More

We had eaten here months before and it was excellent but today service and menu were not nearly as good. We remembered several sandwich selections but today there was only turkey and chicken salad. My husband ordered the turkey sandwich, After 10 minutes the waitress returned to tell us they were out of turkey. It was only 12:30 PM. One... More

Terrific breads and pastries, specialty menu items, soups and sauces... Pine Mountain is a small place, but this restaurant is as good as the best in any large city. A world class chef and menu items that are the equal of any, anywhere. A friendly, comfortable place... well worth the drive as it's own destination. A perfect addition to a... More

We were looking for a place to dine away from a local hotel. At the recommendation of the hotel staff we came to this cafe and instantly fell in love! The decor was amazing and pretty welcoming! Made you stop and look! We were here on New Year's Day and they were offering complimentary sparkling Rose to celebrate! Our hearts... More

Everything we got was delicious. I got a loaf of pumpkin bread and it was to die for, we got chocolate croissants that were great too. I tried to order a cranberry and almond loaf of bread and they said that was what I was getting but when I got home I found that it was the multigrain one with... More

Wife and I were looking for a light snack after shopping the small shops in Pine Mountain. We sat ourselves as is the custom here. A young girl, who told us she was new, took our drink orders. She seemed to me to be more interested in the young man who was sitting outside. After we received our drinks, we... More

I've been here a few times and on my last visit once again I was rudely welcomed when I asked for a pastry. Yes, I just wanted a pastry (to go) and its seemed like that was a inconvenience for them. It was late evening, closer to closing time and I thought since they had been sitting there all day,... More

Yes -yes the food is great and the staff has that friendly small town hospitality and it may be a little confusing about the difference between "small bites" and "lunch", but if nothing else while your at Rose Cottage...you must overdose on their bread! It's the best there is. My favorite is between the Kalamata Olive and Cranberry Walnut! Never... More

Drove down Saturday from Atlanta for an afternoon of sunshine and air in FDR State Park. Stopped here for lunch. What a pleasant find! Bakeries seem non-existent in Georgia, based on decades of living here. To find one in tiny Pine Mountain surprised us. Lunch: Excellent coffee, an inventive sandwich (Brie, sliced pears on walnut bread) plus a very nicely... More
