The Swanson House is very good! I order the meatloaf and it is some of the best. Coming from a household where southern food is cooked almost every night this met my standards! The icing on the cake is the little biscuits you are served just before the meal. It is so quaint situated in the beautiful home. I am... More

We visited The Swanson traveling to Florida in June. My son actually found it on an internet search. We are THOROUGLY PLEASED with his discovery! The restaurant is in a sweet small town in an old home. We had fried okra as an appetizer with a horseradish dipping sauce and it was delicious! Also, we had to try the collard... More

While traveling from Des Moines to Tampa we found this fantastic Southern Style home cooking comfort food restaurant. Very pleased from the moment we walked in, greeted with smiles. Our blonde waitress didn't stop smilin' the whole time!! Recommend trying to go for Sunday noon dinner, won't be disappointed!! I enjoyed the fried chicken, sweet potato casserole dish, collard greens,... More

What a great local place to eat. One of the few places that cook all their items from scratch. What a treat to have them close by whenever I want food like mama made. And the manager is a hoot, very friendly!

Let me preface all of this by saying that I ate at The Swanson for the first time about 3 years ago. I thought the food was horrid and the service even worse. I swore the place off then and there, and cringed anytime someone mentioned its name. Fast forward to late last year. My wife convinced me to try... More

The GM (Calvin I do believe) went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed with great southern hospitality! The food is like your grand momma's Sunday afternoon dinner!!! I wish I could rate this place with 10 stars!!

Cute old house . Seated fast. Drinks served fast. Ordered fried green tomatoes, side salad. Chicken dinners. Entree served first, then the salad, tomatoes never showed. Food had been pre preparedAD and setting inn warmer. Cheap but lousy . Won't stop there again. there at 6pm on 6- 8-2014

Driving home from Florida we decided to stop in Perry, GA for dinner. We found The Swanson Restaurant. Beautifully restored 200-year old home is the perfect setting for old-fashioned, traditional Southern cooking. The Collard Green & White Bean Soup was amazing! We also had traditional fried chicken and chicken tenders. Both were most, crispy, and tender. Large side salad and... More

My husband and I went there for dinner one evening, I love that you can sit outside and eat. It's such a beautiful place, with lots of charm! I love that there was real flowers on the tables too, everything about that place is so romantic. The food is great too! Our server she was really nice and sweet, even... More
