I had a very delightful lunch meal on August 1. I was in town for a business meeting and I wanted to try something beyond the regular chain restaurants. The Swanson Restaurant was recommended by a colleague. My lunch portion was very generous and the service was superb. The sour cream biscuits were AWESEOME!! It was a nice summer day,... More

I have tried multiple items on the menu and have yet to find something I didn't love! Everything is delicious and the staff is great!

The best fried chicken, collard greens, and fried okra I have ever experienced! Very courteous, polite, and attentive wait staff. Absolutely unbeatable!

Really nice, old country house. Great food at reasonable prices. Only complainants were that the table was dirty from the previous guest (don't think they even wiped the clothe off), my knife had some leftover food on it, and that since we went at 1:30pm and they closed at 2pm we felt rushed and did not receive any of their... Southern cooking at it's finest! The fried chicken, dressing and meatloaf are phenomenal! We will definitely recommend the place to others and be going again ourselves!

Visited this establishment a few weeks ago and had the greatest experience ever! I can't recall my servers name she was a short blonde girl! She had a sweet bubbly personality! I got the pot roast and it was the best I've had in a while! Do visit!

This restaurant is situated in a 200+ year old house. The waiters/waitresses make you feel very welcome and are always there to help. First they serve you these tiny, buttery, home made biscuits that are delicious. I had the roast chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, cornbread stuffing and squash casserole. My friend has the fried chicken and was informed it... More

The Swanson House is very good! I order the meatloaf and it is some of the best. Coming from a household where southern food is cooked almost every night this met my standards! The icing on the cake is the little biscuits you are served just before the meal. It is so quaint situated in the beautiful home. I am... More

We visited The Swanson traveling to Florida in June. My son actually found it on an internet search. We are THOROUGLY PLEASED with his discovery! The restaurant is in a sweet small town in an old home. We had fried okra as an appetizer with a horseradish dipping sauce and it was delicious! Also, we had to try the collard... More
