The service was friendly,, that's about all I can say. The barbeque was mediocre served on a plain boring hamburger role, and the potato salad was actually almost frozen when served. The barbeque baked beans were good. Corn bread was flat and dry. We went for dinner,,, apparently the breakfast is better according to the other reviews.

The food for out "meet n greet" banquet was delicious. Mr. Tim Shaw was very friendly and his staff was very helpful from beginning to end. I would recommend anyone staying in the near area to visit J.R's Log House, we enjoyed the food so much we visited the restaurant twice (breakfast and dinner)!!!!

This place is always packed at breakfast. Curious, and wanting some good local BBQ, I decided to try it for dinner. Service - barely average Food -beef brisket could pass as a piece of leather from an old shoe - dry and blah. There was only once choice of sauces - the vinegar kind which I do not like. The... I stopped in in early January for lunch. The place was packed but my BBQ chicken, squash casserole and beans came right out and tasted great. Also came with corn bread and garlic bread on the side. The service is great and you may see somebody famous.

Stopped in for breakfast this morning and was looking forward to some southern style dishes. We stood at the sign that indicated to "wait for hostess for seating" for several minutes and finally a young lady took us to our table. Not many people eating breakfast (it was 10am) so not busy at all. Only one other table of 5... More

Tried their BBQ sandwhich and potato salad and slaw. Everything was delicious. The potato salad was to die for. Would highly recommend this place. Waiter was nice, restaurant was clean and in a good area.

In town on business. Hotels free breakfast was not much. I had seen this place across the highway when I checked in do I thought I would go there for breakfast. I ordered 2 pancakes bacon and oj. Waitress said you probably only want 1 pancake as it is big. She was right. Huge pancake that tasted awesome. Bacon was... More

Great place for breakfast. Try the blueberry muffins. We ate there three of the four days we were there. Very friendly waitresses in a family style restaurant.

Went to lunch while in town on business as it was close to where my appointment was. Lunch Special was good not great and portion sizes were average compared to other BBQ Restaurants I have frequented....Definitely a favorite for the locals, nothing fancy but consistent....Sliced pork was good and the warm BBQ sauce they had on the side had a...
