great for some country cooking, if you like vegetables and meats. cafe style, great on the square location.
Seems like most courthouse squares I know about have a cafeteria that attracts the most locals for the noon meal (especially Sundays), and in Newnan it's Golden's. The food and atmosphere are probably between very good and average, but I gave the establishment the benefit of the doubt in my ratings because I live in Newnan and feel comfortable there.... More
We took my father out to dinner and chose Goldens. First time and will not be returning. The people were pleasant but the food was not very tasty. My husband had the salisbury steak and it tasted like frozen oncor. The lasagna tasted like chef boyardee. The green beans did taste good. The booths were old and with dirty fabric.... More
This is like cafeteria style but everything is made in house and again locally owned and operated. Had the fried fish to pork to fried chicken fresh home made rolls or corn muffins as well as the desserts. Plus go between 2- 4 pm and save 10%
Although there are different items on the service bar each time I visit , I am never disapointed,, taste just Homemade,, nothing like some of the Name brand places,, and you know who im talking about wink wink, love the corn, chicken, check it out once , and you will go back
Found this on trip advisor. Pleasantly surprised. The food was very good. Loved the vegetables, especially the Lima beans, Rutabagas, and fried okra. We went late in the day and the food was still good. Great Southern Cooking.
Golden's is the perfect cafeteria-style restaurant for good Southern cooking. You get a selection of meats, vegetables, salad, and desserts, as well as rolls and cornbread. I've dined at Golden's On The Square in Newnan numerous times during the past several years, and am never dissapointed. Homestyle veggies and entrees delicious rolls and cornbread, and mouth watering desserts. If it's your first visit, be sure and try Golden's home made banana pudding. It's great! Prices aren't dirt cheap, but reasonable ($8-10 for meat, two generous servings... More
Great place for lunch after walking around the square. Lots of food choices for a large group, great tasting homestyle comfort food, loved the older builder!
This place is great. I had a little of everything as my wife and kids let me sample. Especially good was the fried chichen, limas, fried okra, and banana pudding. We had a great lunch at a very good price. Go here.
