I drove around the town square looking for parking and there was none. So I pulled to the back and found a spot to park that was unmarked as reserved. When I got out the two women puffing on their cigarettes said I could not park there. It was the owners spot then she put a orange cone beside my... More

Great place for fresh food. All made to order. Yum yum I have known the owners for years and they know how to do Southern Food.

Took a detour off I-75 for this little gem in the town square. Just the kind of family restaurant with biscuits and gravy we were looking for. Nothing fancy, good food, great price. Worth the trip into town :)

I found this place by accident in downtown McDonough from a coworker who mentioned someplace named Grits in downtown McDonough. It is in an older building with plenty of atmosphere and local flavor. I had the five vegetable plate and all were great. The cornbread was a little too dry for my taste but I am assuming that was an... More

Southern food in all it's fried capacity. Nothing much praiseworthy on the menu. Everything fried tastes exactly the same. Eating here once is enough unless you prefer mediocre food that is filling. Restaurant ambience is typical small town diner. Old building but has an overall dirty feel. Bathroom was third world.

We often here on Sundays with a group of 8 friends. The service is excellent and the southern breakfasts are delicious. We like the sausage selections and their gritz are by far better than any other local restaurant. Looking forward to stopping by for lunch soon!

Large portions. Easy atmosphere very busy in the square to find parking and busy inside for breakfast. Food is tasty. Only had two waitresses when I went. Manager cleaned the table but did not greet us or try to help with orders. Our waitress was quite pleasant. I think great for locals and visitors alike!

Located on the downtown square, Gritz is certainly our favorite place to sip on a hot cup of coffee while waiting for a freshly cooked breakfast. Let me suggest the egg white omelet and toast. Furthermore, on week days the place is buzzing with locals, travelers, and employees from the various government entities nearby. Afterwards, if you have the time,... More

SO glad we stopped here en route to Chicago from a florida. A step back in time, and the food and charm are unbelievable. Authentic (I'm sure), delicious for sure. You feel like you're in a movie. Just off the highway in the cute Georgia town, you're sure to be glad you stopped and will remember this place for ever.

Great family restaurant located in the historic downtown McDonough area. The prices are comparable to a waffle house or a Denny's, but the food is leaps and bounds better. Coffee was refreshingly good and the pancakes were heavenly. The atmosphere is very lively, so I wouldn't recommend for a serious business meeting, but it is perfect for casual events. The... More
