Shillings is one of my favorite places to go enjoy a glass of wine. The food is always good, and the wait staff has always impressed me. Their main bartender is great company and pours a good drink. Never disappointed at Shillings.

Our group was seated upstairs where it was easy to be together even though we sat at separate tables. The food was excellent and service very efficient, especially considering the size of the group and separate checks.

I've taken the kids here a few times, most recently in Jan. of 2015. The French Onion soup is never a disappointment! On this visit we all got our own. Portions are large, food is good. Both times the service has been very good. Servers are very attentive. I love the atmosphere. It's very comfortable and reminds me of an... More

My son and daughter-in-law love this restaurant and selected it for a holiday dinner for my 90 year-old mother, my husband, and me on Dec. 23. It was a rainy, miserable night so we were looking forward to a wonderful meal. Our reservations were for upstairs, and anyone visiting this restaurant needs to be aware that the stairs to the... Our party of three stood in the dining room upstairs until a waitress stopped and asked if she could help us. (Uh, yeah, we'd like to eat). Our waiter said it was his second night at work, which was very evident. We've all been new at our jobs, but to put an inexperienced waiter by himself at dinner reflects very... More

Good food that is consistent and on the square that is rare. Diverse menu with good dishes for all tastes and a solid wine list. The old feel adds to the character of being there. The Brie appetizer is worth the wait. Upstairs has a smaller menu but more romantic.

Shillings is at the top of my list now. I chose it because it's near the theater where we two were going afterward; I had been there before and wanted to go again. The chef's recipes are fantastic--I had the flounder, mashed potatoes, and vegetable medley. The potatoes were delicious and the flounder was perfectly cooked. Portions are just right.... More

When our 3-generation family got together for Halloween events on the Square we checked menus and accommodations at nearby restaurants and only Shillings allowed children inside (because of smoking) and had a cooking staff able to prepare low-sodium food. The food was very good and our server, Cathy/Kathy, went out of her way to make everyone happy.

What a great to have brunch on a Sunday morning. Reasonably priced menu, attentive service, and just good food. Good atmosphere, views to the Square, and consistently excellent. Highly recommended.

First off I agree with other reviews regarding the musty smell upon entering the restaurant. Thinking that Fabreeze might work! HA! After becoming "nose blind", we decided we liked the atmosphere, since it is a historic building. OK, now for the food......we were there for Sunday brunch, meeting and treating our son! My son and I had the Eggs Benedict... More
