Description: The Jekyll Island Club Hotel Grand Dining Room continues to be the scene...
The Jekyll Island Club Hotel Grand Dining Room continues to be the scene of social gatherings and gourmet experiences. Beautifully restored in the Victorian mode, the room is dominated by Ionic columns and gleaming white woodwork. Three handsome fireplaces, complete with intricately carved mantle pieces and marble surrounds, add warmth and cheer on a winter’s day. The lawns and the river can be seen through expansive windows, and the first blossoms of crepe myrtle and magnolia trees color the landscape in early spring. The glow of candlelight and piano music create an atmosphere of romance and anticipation of the gourmet meal to come. A cause celebre in Southern Georgia dining is the Grand Dining Room’s Sunday brunch, a culinary and visual delight. The last Sunday of most months boasts Sunday Dinner Dance with gourmet dining and ballroom dancing.

Excellence

This restaurant lived up to all our expectations as did the hotel. It is like entering into a different world where style, taste and tradition still matter - highly recommended.

This place is just so beautiful and dripping with Old World charm that it's worth going just for the experience. The food may not live up to the ambiance, but who's quibbling? Dinners are quite pricey, but lunch is reasonable enough to be worth the indulgence. Portions are large, so the overall value is quite good. The service is top-notch,... More

We just returned from a stay at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel where we celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. When we booked, we made a reservation at the Grand Dining Room for Saturday night, really just as insurance that we would have reservations somewhere in case other options booked up. With St. Simons just a few minutes away, you have... More

We were staying at another hotel on the island and were underwhelmed at the breakfast they offered, so we decided to check out the Grand Dining Room. Between the quality of the food, the level of the service, and the ambiance odd sitting in a room that has hosted some real history it was a fabulous dining experience. Do not... More

We were visiting the area and decided, upon a recommendation of a local, to eat lunch at the Grand Dining Room. What a wonderful, and outstanding lunch we had. I live in Jacksonville, and I will be back to dine here again.

Server was attentive and friendly offering suggestions for dinner. I had the grilled filet mignon (herb boursin, caramelized onions, truffle bordelaise, vegetable farrow & celery root) and thoroughly enjoyed it. Wine selection was nice. Atmosphere in the dining room was relaxed but nice.

Wife had snapper. Terrific. I had shrimp & grits. Also terrific. Surprised that their wine was so reasonably priced.

The dining experience was elegant but relaxed and the food quite flavorful. The meats were cooked to perfection and the sides unique and delicious. My only wish was that my waistline could have afforded all of the deserts instead of only one.
