Great lunch specials for business people

Service is a bit slow so expect to have a long lunch. The food is good and the $7.99 special including your drink is a good deal for those of us that eat out every day.

Second worst experience ever. I feel when eating out the main rule is to keep glasses full. This restuarant failed terribly. Not only did all four guest have empty glasses on two separate occasions, I had to remind the waitress three times that my glass was empty. This was on my first glass of Coke. The second rule that failed... More

Hubby and I had an early dinner here while visiting the area for a few days. We were seated right away, greeted in a friendly way, given info about specials and local ingredients from a knowledgable server. Our appetizer, salads and entree's were all top-notch. Cook well, arranged attractively, and just the right temperature (something my DH feels he "must"... More

Stopped by to eat here because it was a simple walk down the hill from the hotel we were staying in. 5 minutes after we were seated we got up and left....menu very limited!

James R, Owner at Chophouse of Hiawassee, responded to this review

Dear Valued Customer, I am sorry you felt our menu was too limited. We offer an extensive selection of appetizers, soup/salad, burgers, sandwiches, pastas, seafood, chicken and meat entrees. All of you fish and steaks are hand cut at the restaurant. We make our breads, dressings and sauces here at the restaurant. Such detail does cost a little bit more... More

Had dinner here with 3 friends and all of us enjoyed our meals. We asked for a second helping of the bread dip, it was delicious! Our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and was very polite. The soups, salads and chicken dishes were delicious also. This restaurant sits up on a hill and has a great view of the... More

Our large group only had one server with an occasional helper. The server was friendly and efficient and the food was very good. With a large group and I heard no complaints

Since I was staying next door, I popped in for lunch. It was fine. The salad with chicken was ok. The veg soup had a different flavor than what I was expecting. The staff was very friendly.

Been here a few times and it's always friendly, warm and inviting. Food is much better than good and cost is reasonable for what you get,

This place has great views, and a nice menu with some tasty selections. Remember that this is in a dry county, so there is no alcohol served on Sundays - anywhere. This is also pretty much the only restaurant open in Hiawassee on a Sunday evening (except hotel restaurants).

They were offering a special of Wiener schnitzel. Which was not very good. The veal was not that tender, and the crumb coating was soggy. As it was the special, it was probably prepared in advance and heated before serving. Both my partner and I ordered it and were disappointed. The bill with no alcohol and before tip came to... More

Thank you for visiting the Chophouse. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your entree. We offer many specials throughout the year, focusing on seasonal events. Our "Choptober-fest" is one of those specials. We hand bread the veal to order and the accompaniments are also freshly prepared. I'm certain your next visit will exceed your expectations. More
