Cafe Portofino catered several of our Antique Boating Rendezvous Events. Each meal was better than expected. The owners are very hands on and you really will not find a better meal and/or staff. We truly cannot say enough good things about them.

Not worth the price for dinner. Waited a long time to go there and was disappointed. Ordered the seafood bowl and the mussels were so small the fork could not hold them. The 2 steamers that were in the bowl only one was open and the 2 scallops were disappointing. If you want people to come back you need to... More

Great view if you have a window table, but the food was average for the price point. Would not go back.

We continually try Cafe Portofino hoping we will be pleasantly surprised. The food is consistently good, but not great. It seems as though the items are not at their freshest point or the food is just overcooked. The prices are equivalent to an upscale restaurant, but the food just lacks something. The Caesar salad is a few greens, maybe 6... More

This is a terrific restaurant for a small town in North Georgia. We met the owner and he was very personable and accommodating. The service was excellent. We had mussels in garlic broth for an appetizer and they were delicious. I had chicken marsala with risotto for my entree and my husband ordered shrimp scampi which was on par with... More

First, let me say I was at Cafe Portofino as part of a large group (100+ people). First night we had a buffet that was set up for us. Food was not very good. Second night we were at their beach bar for a dinner. They were serving us individual plates rather than a buffet. I really can't comment on... More

New to the area and our neighbors had told us this was "The place to go for Italian". Boy were they right! We will be back.

Good, reliable for past 5-6 years dining spot in a wanna-B upscale locale. The food is great and the service consistently good. The owner's care and are usually around to check.

We spent Memorial Day weekend visiting relatives who have a summer home on Chatuge Lake. We decided to eat out on our last night; didn't have anything left at home to grill. Cafe Portofino was open, but we were the only ones in the dining room. There were patrons in the bar, and it seemed to pick up over the... More
