Cafe International is right on the Chattahoochee River in downtown Helen. It is an excellent spot for outdoor dining, especially on the nice day that we stopped for lunch. The cafe is very informal (we were at a picnic table in the parking lot, which is better than it sounds). The Reuben sandwich is a specialty, and it was awesome.... More

Looks can be deceiving, and this place doesn't look the best, but the food was very good and reasonably priced.

We visited Helen on a weekday in early March, expecting to eat German food and drink German beer. Sadly, many places, including the ones we planned to visit, were closed. We ended up here by default but serendipity was our friend because we left full and very happy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I got the 3-wurst lunch... More

Service was excellent. Our server even helped us find a table in the sun since the weather was a bit chilly. We got barbecue, the French dip, and Bratwurst. Food was exceptionally fast and environment relaxing.

Based on previous reviews I had already read about the best Reuben in town, I had to try it for myself. I wasn't disappointed, it was delicious. The corn beef was cut thin, tender and piled high on rye bread. The only change I would make is to order a different side item instead of the coleslaw, as it was... More

Back again on November 1st. I get the Ruben every time and it's the best I've had anywhere. They way they grill the rye in butter, the melted swiss cheese, just the right amount of krout, the perfect dressing and juicy corned beef. I simply can't get anything else when I go there. Other family members have had the "Stack"... More

Stopped here with the entire family on our trip to Helen. It was a little crowded but it was the 100 year celebration so we expected that. We all got burgers except the kids who got spaghetti. Everyone loved there food. Service was good and prices were decent. If you sit on the deck it's a nice view. Will go... More

I have eaten at the Cafe International in Helen many times over the years-it's setting over the Chattahoochee River (just a mountain stream here) make it a perfect spot for a relaxed lunch in this bustling little tourist trap of a town. The owners and the waitresses are really nice -I have always been pleased with the service. The food is... More

Vegetarians have it hard in Helen. I was pleased to discover that Cafe International has a black bean burger, and it was yummy. The cole slaw was soupy and sweet - maybe this is authentic, but I just found it weird. Like all Helen restaurants, the decor and cleanliness aren't top notch, but if you need a vegetarian burger, this... More
