I have eaten here on occasion through the years and the food and service was always good. Prices have always been a bit high. Last visit though was the worst. Service terrible. Complained several times, but didn't really impact anything. Food was good, but not worth the price. I think this place might be past it's prime.

There are some restaurants that tend to be known for one or two primary items. Poor Richards has become known for prime rib. We had a group to dine at Poor Richards on a Tuesday night at 6:30 pm Some of the folks in the group wanted to order either prime rib or prime rib sandwiches. They were out of... More

The guy who works the bar downstairs is the best around! Don't let his personality fool you, he isn't the friendliest there is but his drinks sure are nice! Best bloody Mary I have had since New Orleans!

You can't beat this restaurant and it saves you from driving 50 miles to Atlanta. I take visitors to our company there and they are always impressed with the food and the amount that you get. Their house dressing is amazing. The steaks and fish are both wonderful.

Decided on a whim to go there tonight and we were so happy that it was still very good.....salad, drinks, food.....delicious.....Service was a little slow getting started.....but eventually everything was fine!! Sometimes... More

Poor Richard's has been here forever. That is because it has a wide selection on the menu, well prepared food and an attentive wait staff. You just about can't go wrong. We shared a huge plate of chicken nachos and had the Boston clam chowder. Finished with chocolate cream pie. All were delicious. The salads with the hot bacon dressing are... More

Poor Richard's is a Gainesville tradition. The food is consistently good, the atmosphere is great if you like a vintage feel, and the service is stellar. The lower lounge bartender, John Paul, is one of Gainesville's best kept secrets. He is fast and courteous. The wine list is good and reasonably priced. I love the steak soup, house salad and...
