Longstreet Cafe is locally owned/operated. Foods are more like what you would cook at home (but without having to cook/clean up yourself!!) It is cafeteria style, food is good, several choices on the line and the entrees differ from night to night. We normally eat here a couple of times a year.

The five of us had breakfast in this local establishment where the local crowd gathers, including on occasion, we are told, Georgia Governor Nathan Deal, whose home is in Gainesville. We had runny scrambled eggs with runny grits, a huge biscuit, crisp bacon, and a couple of sausages from the buffet line, which we understand is the only way you... More

Ate here several times for lunch with business associates. Cafeteria style southern cooking. We all enjoyed it.

If you like country cooked food, this is your place to go. My preference is something else but the food is good. In my opinion, I think it's a little over priced. But each is their own, I would say. My parents have a garden so I get plenty of vegetables to eat but if you don't have access to... More

Arrived early to meet party & while waiting, staff inquired and provided coffee & water before they arrived. Standard assembly line breakfast but had a home-cooked feel. Eggs/bacon/toast fine and great biscuits. It seems that everyone knew everyone & had family environment.

Very surprised by the 4 and 5 star reviews. Friendly and accommodating, but most of the food is mediocre, at best. Not recommended at all.

I passed the fresh salad bar, scrumptous dessert pans, fried chicken and pot roast with potatoes and carrots to get to the vegetable offerings. Broccoli with cheese, green beans with whole pieces of ham, maccaroni and cheese, fried okra, fresh creamed corn, squash casserole to name a few were the very best in North Georgia. If you want to meet... More

I eat here at least once a week for lunch and am never disappointed. The food is excellent! As for the meats, I have had grilled chicken, grilled pork chops, lasagna, country fried steak, Asian grouper, chicken tenders, and the pot roast. I've heard rave reviews on their fried chicken and meatloaf, I've just never been a meatloaf type of... More
