I eat here at least twice a week. This is best bbq east of the Mississippi river. Great ribs, stew, and pulled pork smoked with real hickory wood. Put this place on your bucket list!

Wow, Unusual. From the outside it looks a bit....different. And the inside for that matter. The Hickory Pig and a Biscuit place share the same building. the Biscuit place is open until about 11, the the Hickory Pig opens. They share three tables and about nine chairs-which are located between the two restaurants. The Hickory Pig was rated #1 among... More

How rare? A few years ago Atlanta Magazine "expanded" the city limits all the way to Gainesville so they could name Hickory Pig "Best BBQ in Atlanta." Phil and his helper "Little Bit' have also been written up in Southern Living, and with good reason. The man know his way around a pig and a pit. There's nothing fancy about... More

Arguing over bbq in Georgia has led to many fights, divorces, and spats. However, Phil Beaubein has cornered the market, and his will settle all arguments as it is simply the best. Ambience is great: a typical old style hole-in-the-wall with that great hickory smell permeating everything. He does it like it's supposed to be done: no fancy sauces, simple... More

the first spoonful, right off the bat, you know immediately that this cup is going to be a highlight reel. the only that can even improve it is a splash of hot sauce. after the first swallow, with eyes closed, head turned to the side, mouth securely closed so as not to let one drop escape i hear it. it's... I live 45 minutes from the Hickory Pig, but I get up and see Phil a couple times a week. This place is not fancy, but the foods is good and the conversation is even better. People come from all around the southeast (must get good reviews) this is absolutely my favorite restaurants to meet people from all over the... More

This place has a great hole-in-the wall atmosphere and the people who run it are really entertaining characters. You serve yourself and figure your own bill, and make sure to ask for a business card. Sadly the BBQ was just average, but I'm glad I visited.

Always an enjoyable experience - good food enjoyable chatter - small place three tables so the conversation is almost always with everybody in the room. Phil must get good reviews since I've met people there from all over Georgia
