The food is fine the conversation are even better

I'm a regular, the owner, Phil is a very interesting guy, I always find the 45 minute drive well worth the trip. ( BBQ, Burgers and salads (Beans and slaw).

This place has a great hole-in-the wall atmosphere and the people who run it are really entertaining characters. You serve yourself and figure your own bill, and make sure to ask for a business card. Sadly the BBQ was just average, but I'm glad I visited.

Always an enjoyable experience - good food enjoyable chatter - small place three tables so the conversation is almost always with everybody in the room. Phil must get good reviews since I've met people there from all over Georgia

Basic accommodation and the best food in Gainesville. The Brunswick stew is fantastic. You canny find better in hall county.

The Hickory Pig is a fun experience, Phil and some of his regulars are just fun to be with. I got there late today (3 PM) Had lunch food was fine, but missed the chatter of Phil and his regulars.

BBQ, Bergers, slaw. Beans & the friendly atmosphere make it worth the two 45 minutes trip I make to the Hickory Pig every week .

I'm about to make the 45 minute drive to the Hickory Pig, since it's 10 minutes north of my Church , late Wednesday afternoon is a good time for me.

Stopped here on our way back from Helen. Little shack type place. But really good food. Locals place. Friendly staff. They cook in small batches so get here early ! Biscuit barn next door - we missed getting a biscuit there .. But real nice folks!

Some of the Best BBQ I've ever eaten, and I've tried BBQ all over the SE, grew up eating at Harolds BBQ in Atlanta, and Harolds used to b considered the best but The Hickory Pig is better, Love the stew also, and the greens, are the best, never had any room left for the slaw so can't comment on...
