Last Saturday we chose Fish Tales for our lunch stop during the Pirates of Lanier Poker Run based on our experience with the same event in 2014. That year the restaurant efficiently accommodated the very large crowd with a central buffet table and additional outdoor seating. Even though there... read more

The atmosphere of Fish Tales is as close as I can get to feel like I'm home in Florida. I love the view and the "beaches". They have created a relaxing lakeside experience for the entire family. The staff is prompt and friendly and the food is always delicious.

Went there on a Friday evening and had to wait about twenty minutes for a table. The place was really hopping! However the natural beauty of the surroundings and the live music helped to make the wait seem shorter. The grouper sandwich is almost too large to eat in one sitting but it was so good I gave it my... More

Awesome location for a drink or lunch at the Lake. Love their frozen margarita's. Yummy appetizers and salads. Definitely one of our favorite places.

It's not summer without a lunch outside at Fish Tales. I've been many times and I've only had their excellent Grouper Fingers and Fries. Bloody Marys are excellent too!

This is a great, casual restaurant were you can get really good seafood in the Buford area. If you have a boat, you can drive right up, dock your boat and walk up to enjoy a good meal. You can also drive, by car, into the marina. The grouper fingers (called "fish tales" 😉) are incredible!! The salads are big... More

Preceded my husband who was docking the boat to get in line for a table. Was pleasantly surprised to see plenty of tables open, and a sign at the entrance saying, "Please seat yourselves". So, I did, and my husband soon joined me. Next thing we knew, a chilly little 20-something waitress showed up and demanded we change tables. I... More

I have been several times sometimes it is great, sometimes it is good and sometimes it is awful. I am not sure if it is the cook or the quality of the food that is changing. The view of the lake is beautiful and it is a convenient place to dock eat if you are in a boat. One thing... More

Three of us dined here in June '15. It was a weekday but the place was busy, especially inside. There's an outside dining option, but for us it was a bit too warm for that. Two of us had grouper (sandwich and dinner) and the third diner had mahi mahi. All of us enjoyed our meals and the service was... More
