If you want to sample the charm and food of a small southern town, sit yourself down. The place isn't much to look at. The parking lot is unpaved. The chairs are old. The tables covered in vintage plastic tablecloths but the food is some of the best southern cooking you will find. Take the Emerson exit off I75 (there... More

Ok, so on the outside it looks like a place that needs a visit from Robert Irvine and the Restaurant Impossible crew, but do not let that deter you from going to Doug's Place! I went for breakfast and the staff was extremely friendly and bantered with the patrons in a way only southern waitresses do. The breakfast portion was... More

Out Joy riding in our convertible when we saw this place. Went in and had a great country cooking meat and 3. Wide variety of options to choose from. Quick and friendly. Reasonably priced. Nice surprise.

Gotta have a true Southern Dinner? Then you gotta have my Doug's. From the classic country fried steak to the smoked ribs, you can expect a satisfying meal. I should know our family has been enjoying Doug's Restaurant for many years. Choose your meat then veggies. Don't forget to order dessert. They taste homemade like grandma's.

Very popular destination for my friends and I. We often ride our motorcycles to Doug's for the great, simple food and friendly service. Everything is cooked fresh and the vegetables taste like they've been cooked that day. Service is always warm and friendly. Jessica and Samantha are especially top notch. Worth the 40 mile ride for a great meal every... More

I have never been disappointed with anything at Doug's! My favorite is the fried okra! We drive from Dallas Ga to eat here and it's worth it!

Southern home cooking in what appears to be an old general store. Exit 283 on I-75; turn off on road 293 in Emerson. We went for a late Sunday lunch and the place was mobbed! Good quick service in spite of the crowd. Wide variety from roast pork to fried chicken - and even chicken livers! About a dozen meats... More
