I live in Cartersville, just north of Doug's Place, and have been eating lunch there about once a week for a couple of decades. Doug's also caters our Vietnam Veterans Christmas Party and our Vietnam Veterans Lake Allatoona party.

I really like local restaurants and Doug's Place is VERY popular in the little town of Emerson. Good, friendly service. For under $10, you get your choice of meat, three sides, and your choice of biscuit or cornbread. Desserts like cobbler and banana pudding are a couple of dollars more if you have room for dessert. Fried chicken tasted dry... More

I didn't experience what I saw on all the other reviews on here. No awesome food, pretty scantily clad waitresses, or anything special. The mac n cheese tasted like what you get at Ryans or Golden Corrall. The fresh watermelon was good. The homemade biscuit that came with my meal was very good and made me want to try their... More

This is one of those places you would expect to see on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives with Guy Fieri shoveling it in. It's not much to look at but some mighty fine eating is served here. This is my kind of food, the kinda food I grew up on ( I'm 64 ). It is truly amazing to me how... More

Doug's Place is one of our favorite breakfast restaurants. If you want a taste of the south, eat here. I highly recommend eating here.

I have eaten many meals at Doug's Place in Emerson, GA in Bartow County. If you are ever in the area or just passing by on I-75, do yourself a favor and stop in Doug's Place for breakfast or lunch. This is a classic "meat and three" place with sweet or un-sweet tea always available. The atmosphere is pure country.... More

Server was embarrassed by the size of the rack of ribs I was served and changed our ticket to a child's portion. Upon paying at the cashier station, I was told that the children's portion would be several dollars more than the adult meal. When I explained what the server had done and why, the cashier, HALEY, stated she didn't... More

Good, cheap home food in an iconic Americana restaurant. Well worth the few miles (3) off the freeway.

Not sure what the fuss is about. Expected better, had better. Fried chicken was good, Okra greezy, string beans out of a can (where was the ham hock flavor?), good mac n cheese, burnt corn bread. Real nice, friendly, purdy ladies wait on you but that doesnt make the food better!! You will leave full. Bout it.
