A friend at work recommended the place, so on my next trip through Atlanta the wife and I made a point to stop in and check it out. We bought a lunch and packed it in a cooler for a trip and ate it several hours later on the road. The sights and smells of the store brought back memories... More

We stopped here for lunch on the recommendation of a friend and were very happy we did. The service was very helpful and friendly and the food was outstanding. We ordered a meatball hero, a ham and turkey hero, and linguine with bolognese sauce and meatballs for lunch. All of it was excellent. Lunch inspired me to buy 8 giant... More

If you come here often, I guess it's good. But if you are new to this joint don't expect much help from the staff on what to order. They aren't exactly helpful. My meal was good but portions are large. I would have liked some more help in ordering something that may be popular to try. I'm not inclined to... More

Had a great, quick lunch at this small Italian deli/market. The stuffed shells, mozzarella di casa salad, bread and iced tea (unsweet...in GA!) were all fresh and excellent. For locals, this would be a great place to pick up a delicious, homemade, take-out meal and bottle of Italian wine.

Have gone to E48th for quite a few years and why I haven't written a review is beyond me. The family knows their Italian food, how to bake bread, make mozzarella and on and on. He also stocks really good Italian products (polenta, '00' flour, olive oils, and wine. He (Charlie) is knowledgeable in all the wines and he covers... More

I eat at E. 48th St. at least once a week. The place is always full. The food is delicious. The portions are large. Sinatra or Dean Martin is usually playing overhead. And when you walk in, the owner or staff will greet you by name. What more do I need to say?

I discovered this place 20 years ago and I still go there when I am not finding that special ingredient.... Charlie is a friend by now... He is of Italian origins and is trying to keep high the Italian traditions. You can find Cotechino and Lentils during Xmas time as well as Pandoro e Panettone...go for it!

My wife and I just moved into the Dunwoody area, so we checked out the E 48th Street Market. The food served through the restaurant was great -- fairly inexpensive and tasty. The house red wine was very good for being just a "house" wine. More to the point, the grocery portion of the market is excellent. If you live... More
