In both Hebrew and Arabic, the word "sababa" is slang for "awesome," "fun," or "cool." But it originates from Arabic poetry and literally means "ardent love," or "fervent longing." At Cafe Sababa, we strive to offer you an awesome, fun and cool culinary experience with our fresh, authentic Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes including grilled chicken, fish, beef and lamb, and we hope you will develop an ardent love for our food and a fervent longing to visit us again and again. Chef/Owner Doni Tamli has over 25 years of restaurant and catering experience. A native of the seaside city of Acco, Israel, Chef Tamli brings his knowledge of the spices and cooking styles of the Mediterranean and Middle East and offers his unique versions of traditional favorites. Chef Tamli owns Cafe Sababa with his wife, Ann, a third-generation native Atlantan. Their two sons, Ariel and Gil, work in the restaurant as well. We offer dine-in, take-out and catering services. Cafe Sababa's lamb burger was noted as a "Dish Worth The Drive" on Atlanta Eats TV in November 2013. The restaurant was voted as one of Atlanta's top Middle Eastern/Eastern Mediterranean Restaurants in a poll by the Atlanta Journal/Constitution in 2012, and was honored by the Dunwoody Chamber of Commerce as the runner up for the 2011 Best of Dunwoody "Good Eats" Business Award.

I had the beef sandwich wrap and a coke! Can't get any more ordinary than that -- but for a quick lunch, it suited me fine. Found in a strip mall not far from the ofc, easy access from the main road, plenty free parking, plenty of tables, not crowded a'tall for Friday lunch, and plenty staff behind the counter... More

Where else can you get a massive falafel sandwich with a side of cucumber - tomato salad for under $8? Delicious! The food here is always terrific and I have never had a bad meal here. Good service and just a great place to eat.

Dined here tonight with my son. There's nothing to write home about as far as the location or ambiance goes, but the food is quite good! This is a small restaurant of about 15 or so tables in a quaint little strip mall. The server was courteous, helpful, and there when you needed him. Try the appetizer combo....you get quite... More

Recently stopped in for a falafal after craving one for a week. It did not disappoint. Hidden little gem in a strip mall on shallowford in Dunwoody. I saw some other dishes being served, a lamb special and a good looking salad, all looked delicious. Small place with limited seating. Will return next week!

After hearing how popular this restaurant has become, I was expecting a pretty stellar experience, but didn't really have one. On the plus side, the food was very tasty, particularly the falafel. However, the prices seemed pretty high, the servings were fairly small, the ambiance is lacking, and the service was just OK.

Like most restaurants in Atlanta's endless suburban strip malls, Sababa isn't much to look at on the outside and doesn't get much better on the inside. It feels like a take out joint. However, the music was good and the service was surprisingly warm, efficient, and knowledgeable. I realized I was in for something good when I saw the shaker... More

Good food and friendly staff. I usually pick up the order to go, but I have eaten inside. Because the restaurant has done so well, they changed up the seating area so there would be more tables. I like the appetizer sampler, kabobs, gyro, falafel, and the salads. I have tried their daily specials and those are always yummy too.... More

I have never dealt with such a low grade of customer service. I hope they don't treat their food like their customers. I called and inquired about catering for my production crew that where scheduled to shoot in the area. It was a simple order for 15 people. I had the regular questions about pricing and quantity because the prices... More
