Description: In both Hebrew and Arabic, the word "sababa" is slang for "awesome," "fun," or "cool." But it originates from Arabic poetry and literally means "ardent love," or "fervent longing." At Cafe Sababa, we strive to offer you an awesome, fun and cool culinary experience with our fresh, authentic Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes including grilled chicken, fish, beef and lamb, and we hope you will develop an ardent love for our food and a fervent longing to visit us again and again. Chef/Owner Doni Tamli has over 25 years of restaurant and catering experience. A native of the seaside city of Acco, Israel, Chef Tamli brings his knowledge of the spices and cooking styles of the Mediterranean and Middle East and offers his unique versions of traditional favorites. Chef Tamli owns Cafe Sababa with his wife, Ann, a third-generation native Atlantan. Their two sons, Ariel and Gil, work in the restaurant as well. We offer dine-in, take-out and catering services. Cafe Sababa's lamb burger was noted as a "Dish Worth The Drive" on Atlanta Eats TV in November 2013. The restaurant was voted as one of Atlanta's top Middle Eastern/Eastern Mediterranean Restaurants in a poll by the Atlanta Journal/Constitution in 2012, and was honored by the Dunwoody Chamber of Commerce as the runner up for the 2011 Best of Dunwoody "Good Eats" Business Award.

We heard about Cafe Sababa from friends and were delighted with the food. This is a simple small strip center cafe that serves excellent Mediterranean food. The humus and falafel were perfect. The special for the night was Moroccan Brisket over yellow rice. The seasoning was terrific and the meat tender. Early in the evening except families with kids. Great... More

Pleasantly surprised to find this strip mall restaurant packed at 6 PM on a Thursday night. Staff very friendly, efficient, and food very good. Prices average for this venue. You won't be disappointed.

I live close to Cafe Sababa and order take out frequently. Their food is always fresh and delicious. If you enjoy Mediterranean food, check it out. It is a small, modest place, and very clean. They also provide very good service.

What a treat!!!!!! I have lived in and around of Dunwoody for most of my life. Was sick of the same restaurants I've been too and wanted something different and not outrageously expensive. Some of the best Mediterranean food I have ever had. When I took a bite of the meat in the Gyro platter, the meat seemed to almost... More

Im Greek so good Mediterranean is not only a staple, but something I am very particular about. The restaurant itself is a little "tight", perhaps some background music would help to muffle everyone's conversation. The plates were a good size, you could tell it was homemade and fresh! Im going back with my wife tomorrow for lunch, ask for Ari!

Don't be discouraged by the location and outward appearance of this restaurant (located in a strip mall off the beaten path). The owner/head chef came out to greet us and suggest his favorite items on the menu. Among the items we ordered were: hummus with ground lamb, the Shawarma Platter, a classic gyro, and the Friday night "special" - which... More

We were on a road trip from home to the Great Smoky Mountains to see the fall colors. We spent the night in Dunwoody near Atlanta GA. We dined at Sababa in Dunwoody and we were very impressed by the quality of the food and service. Everything was fresh made and tasted it. The soup was made with ground chickpeas,... More
