have been here a few times and while the resturant had growing pains, it has hit it's stride. The steaks are excellent. The salads are fresh and the desserts have significantly improved as well. Outstanding wine list but the most important improvement has been the staff. Friendly, helpful and knowledgable have made VR an outstanding experience.

We actually ended up celebrating our anniversary here by accident. And are we happy we did! Viande Rouge now occupies a spot way at the top of our list of local restaurants. What happened was that the restaurant we were supposed to go to lost our reservation. And by 6PM, they were booked solid until 10PM that night. So we... More

My wife and I have enjoyed Viande Rouge many times for a special evening out. We have also shared several evenings here with close friends. All were wonderful evenings. In the spirit of "full disclosure" with fellow diners, be advised that Viande Rouge is not inexpensive. However, this is the old story of . . . you get what you... More

We have enjoyed Viande Rouge several times and each evening there was special. The dining room is small, warm, and inviting. The staff is, to a person, terrific! The meals are fabulous! We have ordered the steak for two twice and enjoyed them both immensely. One night, that particular cut was not available so we each ordered steaks. More in... More

This was the second time coming here for dinner. Nicely decorated. Service was great! Steaks were very tasty. Waiters very knowledgeable about wine selections and menu items. They make some items such as salads and dessert at your table. We had the bananas Foster.

A very quiet atmosphere that appeared to cater to a 60+ crowd on the week night that we were there. The service was uneven- attentive to over attentive, then absent. The waiter brought dessert without utensils then never returned with them. We ended up using our coffee spoons to eat. A small thing, but we waited and waited for one... More

My husband and I went to Viande Rouge for our wedding anniversary last week. We were in the Duluth area visiting our family on vacation so were hoping to find a good place around the neighborhood. We were both wowed by this restaurant! We started with the cheese fondue which was great (and just the right size). Our main course... More

On friend's recommendation my wife and I visited Viande Rouge on a Saturday evening to celebrate a special occasion. Our initial encounter left something to be desired as we stood in the entry way a few minutes before someone (who seemed to be management) addressed us asking had we been helped. Then a very disengaged greeter saw us to our... More

Enjoyed. Couples dinner at VR, Saturday March 29th. For starters we enjoyed a combination of Spinach and mushroom salad prepared table side along with the wedge salad and the lobster bisque. All starters were equally delicious. Entrees ordered included the Boeuf Bourgiuignon which was an incredible dish along with the Filet Mignon cooked to perfection. Table sides included cauliflower cheddar... More

Oh, how lovely when you walk in. Reminds me of the old Pano's & Paul's with its intimate setting and luscious velvet curtains. The bar looks great. Sadly, the bartender doesn't know how to make a dry martini. (Um, it's just vodka or gin with a whisper, a w h i s p e r, of vermouth. Not that hard!)... More
