Breakfast can be a challenge when trying to find a place that does it well and without the boring usual eggs/pancakes/waffles routine. This place gets it right. The pancakes have a nice hint of cinnamon, the home fries- a touch of garlic, the variety of offerings is terrific. The coffee is hot and always refilled...Service is friendly....No need to seach... I was in Decatur for a weekend seminar and I love my Sunday brunch...Sweet Melissa's was DELICIOUS! Home town feel, fresh, delicious food, and extremely friendly, local waitstaff. Their special cream cheese...a blend of ricotta and cream cheese...was like icing on the cake! (bagel in this case). If you like great breakfasts; fresh, flavorful and delicious, don't miss Sweet Melissa's!

Great Reuben!!! Busy lunch location and service can be slow so plan appropriately. Walk in and seat yourself. Good selection on menu.

After our first visit to Sweet Melissa's my wife commented,"They get breakfast in the South". I have to defer to her on that since she spent a couple of years in Atlanta but this small place in downtown Decatur certainly confirms her observation. Sad to say we've had a lot of difficulty finding a decent breakfast place in the DC... More

There is an great variety of breakfast platters. I had a skillet that was an excellent mix of potatoes and grilled veggies - topped with melted cheese and egg. The rest of the family had more standard fare that they "built" themselves. Coffee was good. Literally around the corner from the MARTA station, so an easy start to the day.... More

Had lunch there yesterday (fish and cheese grits--very good!) and couldn't wait for another fix at breakfast today. My husband ordered shrimp and grits and ham for breakfast and very happily finished off my giant biscuit. I like the decor, with a very good showing of photography by Chris Hanley and some interesting mobiles hanging from the ceiling. It's not... More

Place has an earthy atmosphere and friendly waitstaff, but our breakfast was either prepared by a newby or an inattentive cook. The over-easy eggs were underdone (very runny whites), the fruit cup kiwi fruit still had its furry skin and the strawberries their hulls, the cheesy grits, while good, had a tablespoon sized uncooked lump in the bottom. The raucus... More

I've eaten at Sweet Melissa's several times. It is our go-to restaurant when my sister-in-law visits because she has special dietary needs and they willingly help her. But, I have always found the food to be delicious. This last time we sat outside as the weather was lovely and enjoyed prompt and attentive service. I ordered a sandwich and a... More

Everything about this place is wonderful! The food is delicious, the service was extremely attentive, and the atmosphere was delightful! My husband and I stopped here for a quick breakfast before having to leave town, and we are so glad we did. They have so many options, and cook everything perfectly. They also have outside seating that is perfect. I... More
