Was really looking forward to having lunch in this classic place. Love the atmosphere, definitely old school; back in the day. Wish there were more of these. Unfortunately the lunch was not very good. I had country fried steak, dressing and peas. Not much flavor especially for the calories. Was expecting more. I rated "average" only because I thought "poor"... More

Ate breakfast there several times in May 2014. Generous portions. We'll prepared. Served promptly. Good value. Tasted good.

My family are regulars, and Evans is our go-to place whenever the cupboard is bare or we just don't feel like cooking. Basic Southern comfort food, good sandwiches, burgers and salads, great breakfast. Service is friendly and it's easy to strike up a conversation with other diners or staff if you're so inclined. Not exactly fine dining, but a great... More

Whenever I am in Decatur, Evans is my stop for breakfast. The service is not the fastest that was ever created but the food is always excellent. This place has a long history and clearly has regulars that have been coming for years. The food is consistent and good and the pancakes are huge. I never miss a chance to... More

The wait staff are friendly and the food is delicious. You have a huge variety of old fashioned diner selections. Bring your grandparents and load up!

We have travelled a lot. We have eaten fine food, fast food, and poor food. This is a restaurant were average, but good food is served. You can tell by the number of locals that eat there (older couples etc.) that it is locally popular, but not over run. They have been in business for a long time. Sometimes when... More

The food was reminicent of a cafeteria, the chicken was strange and even though I asked if they made their own mashed potatoes and was told they did, it was obvious they were instant with a yellow chicken gravy on them :( I thought since I didn't eat much of my dinner I would try their coconut cream pie which... My wife and I went to Emory Hospital for a visit, and Evans was along the way. I remember going there over 40 years ago when I lived in the area. I couldn't believe it was still there. So, we stopped in for breakfast. What an old fashioned place with the same atmosphere, low prices, and great food. The pancakes... More

Just had breakfast here several days while on business but it was great. Service very friendly, accommodating and my omelet was perfect each time. Would have liked to try some southern standards on the menu for dinner but couldn't find the time this trip.
