Café Alsace is one of my favorite Decatur restaurants. The food is always fresh and excellent, as is the service. The crepe du jour often includes an assortment of ingredients which I would not think to combine, but the results always please me. Want excellent, French cuisine while wearing khakis? Then this is the place.

Do not be distracted by the Google and Yahoo Sunday hours for this restaurant. At least starting today (June 8) this wonderful French restaurant (really, it's just like being in France) serves a preset menu with limited choices that is simply fabulous. It's not every day that we run across foie gras but we had it this evening. Yum. And... More

Today we celebrated my wife's 50TH birthday. The visit here was a surprise for her. She has never eaten French cuisine (as well as I) and has expressed the desire to eat a Beef Wellington. Note: They accept reservations for a party of 4 or more. I made reservations this afternoon and had no difficulties. For starters, we had the... More

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary dinner at Cafe Alsace, and loved every minute of it. From the cheerful welcome from owner Benedicte to the wonderful pate du chef appetizer through the main courses (I had the choucroute garnie, my wife had the duck special) all the way to dessert, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The place is busy,... More

The restaurant was very much French. By that I mean quaint, very small, decorated nicely and crowded. We went for Mother's Day. There were four of us so they accept reservations for 4 or more. Brunch ends at 2pm so when she told me that they only had a 1:30 reservation available, I was skeptical. But I accepted it because... More

Benedicte and Chef Derrick keep this very intimate, small restaurant among the best experiences in Foodie-friendly Decatur. The authentic Alsacian cuisine brings out the best from this border area of France next to Germany. Delicious crepes, including specials that rely on the freshest seasonal ingredients, are a staple--but so are the several variations of spaetzle, a dish also found in... More

We have been dining here for years! I have enjoyed every meal and I am one of the pickiest eaters -seriously. While I've tried many delicious items on the menu, my favorites are the French Onion soup, the boeuf bourguignon, and any of the deserts. They have a very good wine list and the owner is very helpful with pairings.... More

Cafe Alsace is known for its delicious food. It is reasonably priced and elegantly presented. The best part of this restaurant is the warm, friendly service and the feeling of being in a private dining room. It is easy to have a pleasant conversation with your dining partners because of the cozy nature of the room. Highly recommend for special... More

The only upscale restaurant in Decatur where you can actually hear the person sitting next to you. The service is very French and efficient. They know their wines and foods. There are many great items on the menu. It's a fine place for a leisurely dinner with friends.
