We only have experience eating on the dessert side of this restaurant, but if the main restaurant is anything like this side, it will be well worth it. I had the lemon cake with fresh blueberries. It was wonderfully fresh and light. My husband had the flourless chocolate cake and my daughter had the almond cake with mascarpone. They both... More

This is one of our Decatur staples. The food is always great...love the apps and dinner. We usually don't think the deserts are as interesting as the food. The cocktail menu is always good, as well. Have tried the whole trout several times...it is good, but we have done it now and moved on to other dishes. It is almost... More

This is the kind of place you can recommend to major foodies, movies stars, and NYC sophisticates. Great chef, fabulous mixed drinks, and a wine list to die for. Its pricey but you get what you pay for in this in demand restaurant in Decatur.

We love this restaurant, and look forward to returning here every trip to Atlanta. It is an original. Friendly, knowledgable staff with excellent varied wine list and really fun cocktails that you won't find anywhere else: DAZE OF BLEU-- a blueberry infused rum drink with dimmi, aquavit, ginger and lime. Or try ECO 1 11: cilantro infused tequila, dill, aloe... More

We come here about every 4 -5 months to sample new menu items but also to savor our fave appetizer, arancini. The menu items did seem pricier than we remembered--after the arancini, we had the burrata which had greens, beets, strawberries, and rhubarb with a balsamic sauce. It was creative and delicious. We shared an entree--the halibut--cooked perfectly but definitely... More

Went to Cakes and Ale last night; our 3rd visit there. OMG, the food was better than ever. Billy, the owner and chief, stopped by our table and talked about the menu items. The starter bread is baked in their own bakery and very good. We ordered the trout, gnocchi, and sticky toffee pudding. Best trout we have ever eaten,... More

We have been there multiple times since relocating to Decatur. We tend to always sit at the bar and the attention, knowledge, and humor of the bar tenders make this an extremely fun place to return to over and over. I love the ever changing menu based on what is fresh & seasonal. Gnocchi, if on the menu is a... More

What is all the buzz? Decatur has fantastic restaurants so why go to an overpriced place where the food is pretty good, but not amazing? We were disappointed.

I travel a lot and live in a city known for it's food ... this instantly became one of my top ten favorite restaurants in the country. The reviewers who could only muster praise for the olives and prosciutto or had issues with the price point probably aren't people I'd enjoy eating with or around, anyway. Stop analyzing and relax...
