Lunch and Dinner were great - breakfast not so much

The view is fantastic. Lunch and dinner were great - good food, good service, reasonably priced. The breakfast was cold, not very tasty, and the selection was about what you would find at a Holiday Inn for free. At $11 a person I expected much more.

Food was typical state park buffet fair. I had vegetable soup and salad, and my husband tried the fried chicken among other things. Our waitress was so sweet, and let me get a reduced rate for the soup and salad only. Not sure if they have a menu at night, but they do not at lunch. The view is amazing,... More

At noon on a weekday and no A La Carte menu to order off of. There was a buffet but not interested by what was on it. Was able to talk to Cathy, DR manager, and she was kind enough to arrange an order off the menu for me, food good, service could be better. Thanks to Cathy and Amanda... More

The food was fine for the price. However, we waited a ridiculously long time to even be approached by a server after we sat down. Then our party of 9 ordered off the menu for dinner instead of getting the buffet. It took forever, and mind you the dining room was pretty empty - maybe a quarter to a third... More

We were at the lodge for an overnight stay and hiking with our grandson. We've been here a couple of times before, and have really liked the buffet in the past, but this time it fell short of our expectations. Our first meal was lunch, where one of us had the buffet, the other a spinach salad. The salad had... More

We ride our motorcycle in the area very often and eat at the restaurant several times a year. Holiday celebrations are the best. The staff is friendly and professional. Our favorite server is Joe. He gives excellent service and we ask to sit in his section whenever possible. Joe is a great guy. We look forward to his attentive manner... More

This is a typical hotel chain breakfast with dry scramble eggs and hard biscuits. Many guests made their own waffles but we stuck to the bacon, O'brien potatoes, and cereal. The coffee was excellent as was the staff.

On our first night at the lodge for dinner, we had one person in our party with a gluten allergy. Chef Brittany (spelling?) came out personally to talk to us and said she could accommodate this and asked some insightful questions. She came out later to check on a few ingredients and made sure these were okay. What attentiveness! Our... More

Had brunch here while visiting the area and it was very nice. Lots of choices from breakfast fare or more like lunch stuff. The staff is friendly and prompt. The views from the window seats or go out on the patio after eating are relaxing to look at too and add to the ambiance of the lodge.

I believe good customer service can help salvage bad food. But when you have bad customer service and bad food it's hard to come up with a positive. In fact it's almost impossible. So here goes the positive, the iced tea was perfect and the salad was above average as 95% of the components were fresh. The view was stunning... More
