Disappointing food but good service

This restaurant, on the ground floor of the Lodge, has a very limited menu. Of the two items we tried, both were mediocre at best. Prices are moderate, but we still were disappointed. For many meals they have a buffet available. We enjoyed this more than ordering off the menu, although there tended... read more

I also stayed at the lodge so this restaurant was very convenient and kept me from venturing back down the mountain into town. I didn't have high expectations because I didn't think I could have an Amazing View AND Amazing Food, but the food was good none-the-less. I had two meals here, dinner and breakfast the following morning and both... More

It is very convenient to eat your meals here at the lodge however we found that everything is a little more expensive here than in the closest town. Dahlonega and Elijay are about a 10 mile drive where good breakfast and lunch waits at reasonable prices. You will like the food here and everything is fresh and goo Southern food.

The food was okay, just not worth what I paid. the service was mediocre. Really the only high point is the view.

I took my dad to dinner for an early Father's Day present. We asked for and were seated by the large bank of windows looking out over the Smokies. Not a hard task considering there were only two other guests in the whole place. The body of the seating area has plenty of room for several large parties of guests.... More

The food was fresh and well prepared by the chefs and the wait staff friendly and courteous. The cost of the food was a little more expensive than I expected and made to order was not available. This is a buffet style arrangement.

The view is fantastic. Lunch and dinner were great - good food, good service, reasonably priced. The breakfast was cold, not very tasty, and the selection was about what you would find at a Holiday Inn for free. At $11 a person I expected much more.

Food was typical state park buffet fair. I had vegetable soup and salad, and my husband tried the fried chicken among other things. Our waitress was so sweet, and let me get a reduced rate for the soup and salad only. Not sure if they have a menu at night, but they do not at lunch. The view is amazing,... More

At noon on a weekday and no A La Carte menu to order off of. There was a buffet but not interested by what was on it. Was able to talk to Cathy, DR manager, and she was kind enough to arrange an order off the menu for me, food good, service could be better. Thanks to Cathy and Amanda... More

The food was fine for the price. However, we waited a ridiculously long time to even be approached by a server after we sat down. Then our party of 9 ordered off the menu for dinner instead of getting the buffet. It took forever, and mind you the dining room was pretty empty - maybe a quarter to a third... More
