Located about half way between Jacksonville, Florida and Savannah, Georgia (Exit 49 off I-95) is a great little hamlet called Darien, Georgia. When you get tired shopping at the outlet mall on the west side of the highway, take about 10 minutes and head east on Hwy 257 and south on Hwy 17 to SKIPPER'S FISH CAMP. Skipper's is a... More

We happened upon Skipper's while on our last trip down the coast. Lucky! The fried shrimp were so fresh and just enough batter so that you can still taste them. My husband had the combination oyster and shrimp plate. He was a happy camper and commented to me that the oysters were among the best he has had fried. Our... More

Several notches above the typical "fish camp!" the food is excellent and the atmosphere is first class. Charlie's Chowder is worth the price. Enjoy!!! More

We stayed in Darien on the way back to Virginia from FL. This restaurant is wonderful. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. The food was delicious - my husband had crab cakes and corn casserole. The corn casserole was THE best one I've ever had. Hands down. So good, I ordered one myself. I had the crab legs... More

Some of the best Wild Georgia Shrimp that I have ever tasted. They had good "greens" and sweet potato casserole when we visited. More

My husband and I throughly enjoyed our evening at Skipper's Fish Camp. We started with drinks on the deck of the bar, watching the sun set over the Darien River, and then moved across the deck to the restaurant for dinner. We started by sharing a McIntosh Crab Cake. We both had the Sweet Georgia Shrimp Platter (fried) with fried... More

We stopped here for the lunch on our drive home from Florida to NJ. It was easy and quick to find off of I-95. The restaurant was crowded, but the wait staff was great and friendly. The food was delicious and it was worth it to have a nice meal rather than settle for fast food. The location and views... More
