Fabulous food and service

We had an excellent meal with outstanding service. We split the broiled shrimp dinner and it was the best broiled shrimp we have ever had. Our waitress was fabulous with her recommendations and service. We would strongly recommend a stop at Skipper's if in the Darien area.

In Darien for the nite and went to Skippers for dinner. It was "ok" - the best thing about it was the view. Entrees seemed a little overpriced so we passed on those and made a dinner of shrimp and soups. Steamed shrimp was supposed to be "spicy" - but didn't live up to that description - resorted to dipping... More

Oh boy. Fresh oysters and crab cakes. The restaurant is right on the river and has a stunning view. It was too cold the day we were there to sit outside, but it would be wonderful to do so in warmer weather. Well worth the trip through Darien. What more can I say?

Skippers is a few feet from the Darien River and docks! This is where the fresh fish, shrimp, and oysters come from! Locally owned & operated, Skipper does it right the first time. The have indoor and outdoor seating as well as a raw bar. Watch them shuck your oysters right in front of you. The Pig Picken BB-Q is... More

We were looking for a place to eat on the water & not terribly far off of I95. We sat on the dock surrounded by boats and picturesque scenery, while lunching on crab cake & tuna sandwiches. Perfection!

Beautiful view of the water with fresh seafood. The shrimp "poor boy" was tasty and the ribs were a real treat. The wait staff was busy and had an "attitude". My husband got the wrong sides and it was not corrected until we got doggie bags and mentioned it again. He then got doubles on the sides. He said they... More

Each time we visit the St Simon's area, we get up to Darien for dinner at Skipper's. We usually order their flounder and fried shrimp. The flounder is bigger than the plate it is served on and is fried to perfection. The generous portion of shrimp is very lightly breaded. Our latest visit was on Valentines Day, and although the... Late lunch with delicious fried shrimp, tasty shrimp salad, fresh blackened fish and interesting Brunswick Stew. Prompt service and great river views. Can't miss!

We saw their billboard, yeah, I know, who goes to a restaurant based on a billboard, well we did and it was a terrific dining experience. Our server, Jennifer, was terrific, not just her restaurant skills but she filled us in on the area fishing fleets and alternate, more scenic routs for our trip. Now the important stuff: the food... Passing through Georgia on I-95, we saw a sign for Skippers and decided to stop for lunch and were really happy that we did. Skipper's is a couple miles off of I-95 at exit 49. They are located on the river, with great views. The seafood was very good. My husband had a shrimp poor-boy sandwich and I had fried... More
