My bride and I found our hungry selves about 50 miles outside of Savannah a little after noon last week while on a trip to Charleston. Maybe it was severe hunger that compelled me to leave I-95 and exit to a little Georgia town called Darien. Maybe it was the name that drew me since we have a Skipper's in... More

Last summer my wife and I ate at Skipper's Fish Camp for our wedding anniversary while visiting the area. The food was acceptable (though a little overpriced) and the service wasn't too bad. We spent around $60, which showed up as an authorization on our bank statement. The transaction then disappeared, unnoticed to us. Then, a full 94 days after... More

The wife and I were heading back to Florida after a 6 week vacation celebrating our retirement from teaching. Looking to make our last day of travel fairly short, we decided on the Darien, Ga. area for our stop over. I asked at the local Hampton Inn for a recommendation to a local seafood eatery. They suggested Skippers, and gave... More

Located right by the marina and walking distance to Waterfront Inn and Waterfront Wine -- really good seafood and customer service. TheSocialSingle.com

I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of my dinner tonight at Skipper's Fish Camp. I had the Captain's Platter, along with a cup of crab chowder and onion rings and fried okra as sides. This is some of the best fried food I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. The batter was light and the food was cooked perfectly, instead of... More

Charming little restaurant in a great setting. Food was very good, service was excellent, and people were friendly. Will try to go back with my wife to enjoy the sunset and have a nice dinner. Live music on Wednesdays which I am sure would be a good night!

This was the second time we ate here while stopping for the night in Darien. The food was tastey. I would highly recommend the crab stew and oysters. It has a real cute campy atmosphere, and great views from the porch! Check it out!

Stopped for lunch ... our second visit in the last 60 days. We consider Skipper's to be a 'must return' restaurant. Clean. Inviting. Lots of great seafood. Service always good. Prices are appropriate. Don't miss Skipper's ... otherwise you'll regret it.

Started with the gator tail - delicious. Wonderful catch sandwich (fried grouper). Husband loved the fried shrimp, grits, and onion rings. Only disappointment was the prices and hush puppies.

Enjoy really good seafood in a natural setting on a creek with shrimp boats on the water. Outdoor seating with a view or inside with large windows makes dining enjoyable. Lightly battered seafood platter with grouper is fresh and done just right. Very attentive wait staff .
