Good home cooking

Stopped through on Ohio to Florida trip for a roadside rest. Wanted to be off the beaten path. Glad we stopped in. A nice change of a home cooked meal from the usual road trip stuff. Would recommend the diversion from the highway. Thanks!

The Oakwood Cafe seems to be the place for local Dalton folks to gather for breakfast and other times. The service is excellent and very friendly and the food wonderful. Try the biscuits for sure!

We ate dinner here before spending the night nearby on our way to Florida. We were so glad we did! We loved the barbecued pulled pork and green beans. In place of a second vegetable, we had Brunswick Stew. I ate many versions of this when I live in Georgia years ago, because every cook has his or her own... More

I was in Dalton and wanted something different to eat. I looked on TripAdvisor and saw the reviews for this restaurant. I arrived at about 5:00 on Saturday and most of the tables were filled. (Good sign!) We had a great server who answered any questions we had, kept our waters filled, and was willing to QUICKLY get us anything... More

My husband and I went to a special Valentine's event hosted and catered by the Oakwood Cafe. The food was absolutely amazing and the staff who served us were wonderful. I usually do not eat lamb, but it was one of the courses and was cooked to perfection. I also loved the duck confit salad. Seriously, everything I tasted was... More

Oakwood is a good local place to eat . Especially when you want more than just a burger and fries menu.

Oakwood is a locally owned and operated family style restaurant! Very Good food, good service, good value and a local favorite! You see and meet many friends for breakfast, lunch and dinner at any given time. It's stood the test of time and is one of Dalton's oldest establishments. If you want to get the feel of the community, stop... More

We eat there about once a week. Smoked chicken with 2 sides of veggies and Brunswick stew is my favorite.

If you enjoy BLT's, this one offered a great twist - the T was a fried green tomato. Crisp and delicious, as was the bacon, and on a thick wheat toast. One of the better lunch sandwiches I've had in a long time. Worth the stop if you're driving past Dalton on I-75 in North Georgia and trying to avoid... More
